This has to be the worst bank in the world. Their customer service is awful. You can't even transfter money between this bank and another without jumping through a million hoops. Their online banking is crap, hell you can't even reset your password unless you are on a registered browser... so what the hell do you do when your away from home and need access to your account?! Hell you can't even pay on a loan with them using a debit/credit card from another bank, only one of their cards or a check... is this the 90s again? The only reason I dealt with them in the first place is because a specific loan officer came highly recommended, but they laid him and his assistant off last January. I've already taken my money out of their bank and once my loan is paid off next week I will have nothing to do with these people. I suggest you do they same.

Normally a fan of Independent, however this branch is a disgrace to the system. Rude employees with unprofessional habits with their friends kid and her kids screaming behind the counter. Most unprofessional bank I’ve ever been to. This branch needs to get their act together. And this employee needs to be trained in professionalism!

I have banked here since they built the building years ago. Very, very nice people. Please know it takes more than 2 weeks to receive a replacement debit card which is extremely inconvenient and down right ridiculous. Otherwise it's a great bank.

The people that work at this location are always nice. Their ATM is the worst, though. Half the time I go there the ATM doesn’t even exist. It just isn’t there. When it is there it doesn’t work.

This is the worst bank ever in 3 months I have had my bank account emptied ( stolen ) and I have found out it is the banks falt. It takes them a month to return your money. They have no fraud prevention. Do not bank with this bank.

I went to Independent Bank for a home remodel as I had been a customer for about 20 years. I submitted the first application for this $30,000 loan in November with with the loan advisor assuring me this would be no problem. I called periodically and promptly provided any documentation when asked. I started asking why it was taking so long and was told they are working on more valuable loans currently. I should have figured it out at this point. When January rolled around I started bugging them more because the day after Christmas I started the demolition. In January, they said I had completed the wrong application and had to start over!!! A couple of weeks after resubmitting the application, knowing I had started the remodel with a contractor, they told me they wanted a signed lien waiver from the contractor for work completed so far. What??? He hasn't been paid. I told them this many times. They said unless they had the signed waiver from the contractor, this loan would not happen. I told them the loan was not happening and I would go elsewhere with all of my business and they didn't even ask why. Evidently, unless you are a million-dollar customer, you mean nothing. I can't recommend them for anything more that opening your children's account. Even then they charge a fee if it doesn't have their minimum balance.

My initial experience with this financial institution was less than pleasant. Independent Bank of McKinney, Texas acquired my former financial institution, NorthStar Bank in early 2017. The systems conversion was completed over Columbus Day weekend (October 6 - 9, 2017). Upon accessing my accounts online for the first time after the systems conversion, I discovered that my checking account was not available via the online application. I could view my other accounts, but not the checking account. I contacted Independent Bank's Corporate Office in McKinney (as this was the only phone number that I could find on their website). I was told that the Customer Service phone number was “offline†due to the high call volume (for those who do not know, this is NOT a good omen). However, the person took my name and number and said that someone would contact me. A few hours later, I did receive a call from a bank employee who (for reasons not known to me) believed that I was locked out of my online access. I explained to her that I was not locked out but that my checking account was not visible. She said that the account could be added back, but probably not that day. Again, not a great experience because I did not make my account disappear. The employee said she would check on a couple of other things and call me back. I never heard from her. I had to call corporate a second time and on the second try was connected with a knowledgeable employee. This employee began reviewing my accounts and within approximately 15 minutes was able to get my checking account added and visible via the online system. I am giving a four star review due to the actions of this employee, otherwise this would have been a one-star (or no star) review. I hope that the relationship with this financial institution will be four or five star going forward.

Great bank, great people, great rates. My kids love getting candy every time we go. Only wish is that the ATM could take deposits during off hours.
