Everyone is super sweet and helpful! I love their complimentary yarn winding services. I wish I had known about this place sooner because they have classes which would’ve saved me a lot of time when I was teaching myself! Their selection is huge and perfect for crocheters, knitters, and quilters. I wanted to branch out with my yarn choices and I enjoy seeing the super cool colors from indie yarn brands and some local ones as well!

My friend and I had THE best day at McKinney Knittery! We received the warmest welcome and had great conversations with the super friendly owner and staff. From the top-notch hospitality to the incredible selection of yarn and notions, McKinnery Knittery was an A++ experience! Thank you, Ginger!!

I used to love this store. Stopping by on a weekend to browse and buy yarn was one of my favorite ways to unwind. But my most recent visit left me feeling a bit disheartened and disappointed.
I noticed a sticker on the checkout counter that said customers receive a 20% off coupon for their birthday. My birthday was just yesterday, and I hadn’t received anything. I asked a staff member about it, and she confirmed that my birthday was correctly listed in their system and asked me to check my email again. I checked both my inbox and spam folder and found nothing aside from old receipts.
When I asked if there was any way to still receive the coupon, I was told, “There’s nothing I can do. It comes from the server,” with no apology or effort to resolve the issue. A manager then came over and said, “Just give it to her,” but the tone felt dismissive—like I was trying to cheat the system or asking for something I didn’t deserve.
A simple acknowledgment of the mix-up or a “Happy belated birthday” would have gone a long way. I didn’t come in for a 20% coupon. I came in today because I genuinely enjoyed purchasing yarn from my local shop. But today as I did not feel welcomed, I left without making a purchase. I hope the store can bring back the warmth and customer care that made it feel so special.

I went here for an event and was absolutely blown away by the selection! McKinney is far from me, but I will be making the trek again sometime soon!

As I wandered through the store, an employee asked me if I was finding everything I needed. I said that I needed sock yarn that was a minimum 20% nylon. She showed me the sock yarn, and I was able to quickly make a selection. The lady who rang up my purchase was very pleasant. Since she wasn't sure my emailed receipt would go through, she printed a physical receipt for me. I will definitely return to McKinney Knittery in the future.

Nice yarn store, the staff was friendly and the environment was great. Not very wheelchair friendly, the aisles are pretty cramped. Prices range for yarn, but typical is around 15-20 dollars a skein.

I wish I’d gotten her name, but one of the very nice ladies helped me color match a yarn I was using to mend another project. It matched so well and I’m glad I listened to her and didn't get a super expensive yarn for such a small mend so I had leftover money for cute stitch markers and things :)

They have the most beautiful and luxurious yarns! They have so much high quality material as well! This place is so awesome! They have everything and then some! They have yarn from Woolfolk, La Bien Aimee and so many more! They offer sewing classes and knitting classes. They sell needles and products from Chiao Goo, Clover, Coco Knits, Knit Pro and many more! I LOVE this place!! The atmosphere is so creative! You just want to sit and knit there all day!
