I set out on this trip with no plans to see any Rt66 attractions but here I am. What a cool little old gas station that was fully restored. Great place to stop and take photos and just soak in on the moment. This was the spot that I decided to make the most of this trip and see all RT66 had to offer. Other cool places along the way. Some marked on google, others not. Glad this one was marked.

Not really worth the stop. The towns a bit of a dump to me and not much else there.

The Old Route 66 Association of Texas will soon begin some restoration of this wonderful historical building.

The town is tiny and rime has rally take. It's toll but it was a neat, free place to get some great pictures

Nicely restored 1929 Phillips "cottage-style" gas station. It's closed but a nice photo op

A quick must-stop of you're going through the historic Route 66 like me and my wife. It's at the outskirts of a very small town, more like a ghost town next to the interstate.

This is a neat historical site. No entrance just a place to view and take a photo. Hopefully they will keep the place up.(restored)

I think this is my third or fourth restored gas station after the Petrified Wood Gas Station in Decatur TX and the Yaphank Garage in Yaphank NY and the Historic Gulf Station in Heath Springs SC Restoring gas stations seems to be a thing. The sign points out that this was the first Phillips 66 station in the state of Texas. It's also the first restored station on the old Route 66. The restored station includes the structure (though the inside is not restored), three Phillips 66 gas pumps (obviously non-functioning) and a tow truck (also, non-functioning). If this sort of Americana turns you on, you'll enjoy this. It is worth a five minute detour off I-40 and a five minute walk around. There is plenty of street parking.
