Absolutely lovely place. I'm a near total novice when it comes to plants, but whenever I've gone there for an item they've had it and have given me advice or suggestions. Always happy to answer questions and are clearly enthusiastic about the plants.
The plants are all healthy, colorful and just walking through the rows is calming and a good experience.

First off, let me just say that I love Calloway's. They always have a great selection and fair prices. Most of the pants are very healthy. Now, that being said...
Yesterday, 5.29.24, I went by this location, on Galloway in Mesquite, to look for a couple of very specific plants for my sister. (Selaginella, if anyone is curious. She had a major greenhouse malfunction on the coldest days this winter and lost everything in it, including her three selaginellas, so I was looking for replacements.) It was very late in the day and I knew it was, but I had a very specific need and knew that I would be quick. I looked at my clock when I was getting out of my car and it was 5:52. Like I said, it was very late but I knew exactly what I was looking for and how quick I would be.
There was an employee standing with her hand on the chain at the rollup door, ready to close it. As soon as I locked my door and turned to the building she looked at me and said "We close in five minutes." I immediately turned back to my car and left.
If you're open until 6, then you're open until 6. There is no need to stand in the door to ward off customers. She had no idea of my need.
I have no problem spending $100+ on a plant, or more, if it's one that I like and don't have; I have both a Monstera Albo and a Thai Con. What I needed yesterday was not that expensive, granted, but she had no idea what I needed, whether is was a $5 plant or a $75 one.
I go frequently just to browse because the selection changes. I will still do this but not in Mesquite. It doesn't bother me to drive a little farther to go somewhere else, there are lots of choices.

Calloway's has the most beautiful selection of flowers. The colors, arrangements and variation of plants and flowers-outstanding! I always thought buying at a nursery would be more expensive but Calloway's prices are actually comparable and many times a lot cheaper ($1.99-$3.99) especially for the smaller size starter plants that can't be purchased in the big box stores. On my most recent visit, the sound of wind chimes filled the air; beautiful jewel toned hydrangeas greet you at the entrance as you walk into a sea of colorful flowers and hanging baskets everywhere-so awesome and so much to choose from! Their perennials and trees in the back are healthy and well priced! It was like being on a tropical island. This time of year, Calloway's is well stocked-their staff is knowledgeable and always willing to help . If you're looking for something special for your garden, Calloway's won't disappoint!
