I gave thus place 1 star but should be zero stars. I visited Elliott's hardware today 3-22-24 around 6:30 pm to pick up some fuel line for weed eater, don't know the man's name working the parts counter where the lawnmower part are at but he was so rude he saw me and that instant I new he wasn't going to help me. A older white man grey hair about 5'7", he ignored me never said I'll be with you as soon as I can nothing. He was helping 2 other people selling them a chain was, after they went to pay for their purchase the man went to the back to work on the chain saw without saying a word or can I help you or I'll be back with you, he didn't look my way he just walked away without acknowledging me, rude and racist man. I visited Elliott's hardware before and noticed it before but other personal ended helping me but this time it was just him, I won't visit this store anymore. Sad sad sad, bad business

The attendants at the mower parts counter are consistently unhelpful and unfriendly. I work as a sales engineer. I take calls all day long that require patience, understanding and effort to assure a successful outcome for my end users and partners. This kind of attitude would get me tossed on the street inside of a month. I have had bad experiences over and over with these people. I'm not sure if it's because I am a civilian and not a pro landscaper that I get this treatment but I'm done with it. I came in with my mower model number, looking for the correct oil and oil filter. I did not have my Briggs and Stratton engine model but I knew it wasn't going to be a heavy lift to figure it out. My first minute (a full minute or more) I spent being completely ignored 2 and half feet away from the counter person as he was entering some parts into an order I guess. After he finally acknowledged me I asked him about the oil and filter after giving him the model number (twice of course). He did a quick search of his database and turned to his partner and asked if he knew which filter I should use. The reply was that he couldn't possible say as B&S made many engines. OK, I could tell they were done with me. I stepped away from the counter a simply Googled my Ariens mower model number and had the engine model and the oil filter in two minutes. I went back to the counter and gave him the oil filter part # and the only reply was "that's not in our system". Needless to say, I needed to be done with this experience. When I got home from a few more errands I typed the part # into Amazon and it was in my cart and could be delivered to me BY 2PM TODAY! I do try and support small business and I choose Elliott's constantly over HD and the like. I know the prices will be higher but I do it anyway. I don't know if I will continue to do it and I definitely won't try to buy mower parts there.

This place is right down the street from my house so I use them out of convenience. Their prices aren't always the cheapest but the staff always seems friendly and attentive and they have a huge selection of household items! Another added bonus is that they have a Scag dealer and a Stihl dealer located inside the store which is exactly what I need to service my lawn equipment. I like this place a lot and will continue to shop here

These people have have no clue how to help customers with the right the right product they need. The second time my mom and and son went in to try to get replacement for sink plumbing, some female employee told them to buy a longer trap and cut off what needed, despite the fact it was the same size as what didn't work before.Absolutely no clue, they are are only there to take your money. Avoid this place and go to Home Depot. And don't reply back with you are sorry for the inconvenience, you should be sorry to run a slipshod operation

Elliott's is a great place for the DIY'er. I especially like the selection of nuts & bolts. I will think of going to this place before going to a larger retail, unless I have to go for items that are only available there like Ryobi tools.
