Any hail storm that happnen with in the time frame of you using the car, they will file a claim for you to pay for the car damages. We get a email two weeks after we returned the car saying that we have to pay for the hail damages. Most of the cars are not covered so its not going to matter if you returned or not after the fact. Becareful of this place.

John Donovan is an excellent manager and a wonderful person. He literally helped make a positive impact on my life at a very difficult time. The reason why this is so amazing and profound is because he just seemed to understand my situation and be helped me without very little effort on my end. It was a challenge trying to get answers and help by calling the customer service number, but when I returned with my rental I was hopeful they they would be able to help me with my situation and they definitely did. Thank you again!

I rented from Alamo for the first time. They were the cheapest by far for a full size truck rental, so I thought I would give them a try. The two ladies and one gentleman I dealt with upon picking up and dropping off were exceptionally nice. No problems with either process. I quickly discovered why the truck was so cheap. It was in rough shape inside and out. It did have well over 66,000 miles.Several days after dropping it off, I received an email from a third party regarding a damage claim. Ironically this came after I submitted an objective review about the condition of the vehicle. It was constructive criticism. I wasn't rude in any way. I still considered it a good overall experience.I called the third party and explained that the claim is a false accusation. I also reached out to Alamo but never received a response. If was bad enough that they didn't call initially regarding the issue. To ignore me reaching out is unacceptable. It's incomprehensible that they would even attempt to file such a claim when they never did a walk-around before or after. Fortunately I have unlimited legal services through my employer at no additional cost and will utilize this to the fullest extent for justice. Unfortunately I need another truck this weekend. I've probably rented more than a dozen times over the past several months. There will be many more in the future. Alamo probably would have been my "go to" due to the reasonable prices and friendly staff. This incident just ruined that.UPDATE May 26: I was gracious for Christopher reaching out so quickly. I followed his instructions immediately and had high hopes of a resolution. Three days later, no response. It seems like that was for "PR" so people reading this review would think they were genuinely concerned. I will provide a final update on how Alamo ends up addressing the issue.

We rented a great vehicle in March 2023. We had 3 flat tires of which we replaced 2 of them with new ones. It is now May and we are still waiting to hear back on reimbursement. We were told when we called from the tire shop that we would be taken care and not to worry. An email has been sent with all the details. We are still waiting on a reply.

If you know someone has a reservation but you leave and go home. Absolutely poor customer service. Common sense at this location has departed on a earlier flight

Edited: I’m updating my previous 1-star review to a 4-star one because a customer service representative finally got in touch with me and was able to refund the extra day charge from my credit card. It took 2 tries (once over the phone and the second over email), but the problem was resolved, and for that, I commend the customer service representative who helped me. She also apologized for the dirtiness of the vehicle. If you are going to rent from this Alamo location, I recommend saving your boarding pass(es) from the airline. I also recommend paying for food at your connection airport, parking at your destination airport, and/or gas along the way home with a credit card. If you have a Drive Safe and Save app from your car insurance company installed, you will also have another piece of time-stamped digital evidence proving that you arrived home as scheduled. The more pieces of electronic evidence proving that you left MAF as scheduled and, thus, it would have been impossible for you to have returned your rental vehicle late, the better in case you need to ask your credit card company to intervene. I hope you won't need this evidence, though, since it seems like this Alamo location is working on doing better.-I’m a frequent visitor to MAF and have had good experiences with the other car rental businesses there. Alamo was my first bad one. First of all, the truck was a bit muddy both inside and out. That’s fine, though. I’m not fussy. I wouldn’t have minded if this had been the only issue. The problem is Alamo charged me for an extra day when I returned the truck on time. I used their drop box because there were no employees at their counter. When I called to rectify the extra day charge, their customer service line went to a very nice call center employee who couldn’t help me and assigned me a case number and assured someone else would get in touch. That person never did. Luckily, I have multiple pieces of digital evidence like a boarding pass and several credit card charges proving that I left on my flight from MAF as planned and was nowhere near the vicinity of MAF at the time Alamo claimed I returned the (dirty) truck late. I will submit these pieces of evidence to my credit card company.

So unprofessional. Charged us unreasonably for the supposedly "damage" they claim which is just ridiculous and untrue. There was a hail when we returned the car and they are pretty much blaming it on us..was charged $2000 for that?. Seems like they are dumping all the damages including those already present on us. I rent cars many times and I've never had such absurd experience.

Had to cancel my trip after waiting for over half an hour just to be told they still don’t have any cars ready. Plus the customer support is a hassle still haven’t gotten a apology or answer. Save yourself the trouble use a different company.

I'm a long time traveler to this airport. The Alamo/National counter personnel are great. Always helpful and they have newer and cleaner cars. The other rental company I used to use...not so much.

These people should be clear about renting a vehicle. Other places allow you to rent a vehicle using your debit card, without having to have fly. You need a major credit with this place to rent a vehicle if they are just renting. Very big inconvenience.
