Responding to ace.aYou called us and didn't even know what kind of dog you owned, you told me the apt didn't allow your dog and you had to get rid of it!!! (Most responsible adults would check that info prior to getting a dog) anyway, when I told you that we were at capacity you got angry and was cussing at me, so when I hung up on you, you proceeded to call and hang up over 10 times like a 5 year old, it was only when you were told that if you continued calling and hanging up that we would report your number to the police dept.... according to your reviews, it looks like you do nothing but complain on businesses when you don't get your own way... hopefully you find a home for your dog!

They only help the animals when it's convenient for them. Nor will they offer to help or lead you in a different direction if they are full. It's not their "job". Truly unbelievable

Amazing place! With all the animals they care for it is clean, doesn't smell, and you can tell they care about each one. If there must be places like this...they should all be run like Lone Star

On Tuesday, August 2, 2022 after finding this sweet girl I went to Lone Star Sanctuary for Animals. It was around lunch time. The gate was locked. I didn't know if this dog came from there or was dropped off or possibly even wander that way. A lady with blond hair came out at the building with two other girls apparently going to lunch. Before I could say anything she rudely said "we are full". I explained that I had just found her in the turning lane in front of their sanctuary. She then rudely said "if you don't want her drop her off at animal control right down the street." She repeated that 3 times. I finally got her to scan for a chip. Unfortunately, there was no chip. I am so disappointed in Lone Star. We donated $1000 of food and supplies in our grandmothers name after she had past March 2020 to Lone Star. I didn't expect special treatment. They don't even know who I am. That's all good. I just expected nice people. Especially from people supposedly caring for animals. Georgann

My husband & I were looking to adopt one of the catshere. We visited over the weekend and immediatelyknew he was the one. We were asked to get thedocuments (we did so within a day!). Despite calling inand checking in on a Sunday when we go there on aMonday they say he's been adopted already. Now, hewasn't ready for adoption when we visited meaning hecould not be adopted as yet (and so was not advertisedeither). I'm not sure what to draw out of this situationbut definitely not acceptable. And very disappointed!

They wouldn't let my dad and I adopt a catahoula mix puppy because they're "not meant to live in the country" they would rather have their puppies miserably cramped up in city houses/apartments with no places to run or play. If they truly cared about the dogs that they're trying to "help" they would know that catahoulas are hunting and working dogs. They don't have the dogs best interests at heart.
