In my experience this is by far the worst H&R block to handle any form of professionalism in addition to importance, urgency, and concerns. Communication experience and skills are lacking tremendously with this location and its representatives.

BEWARE......
Took my 2023 paperwork into the Mt Vernon office in March of 24. In the second week of April. The Mt Pleasant office contacted me. They said the Mt Vernon office was closed because the personnel walked out. Well, fast forward to April 15, and nothing was filed yet. They filed my taxes in May. Charged me over $500. Then, since it was late, the IRS is charging a late fee and interest. I think H & R Block should pay fees and interest since they filed them late, not me. They have been giving me the run around since and will now not answer emails. They said it was being looked into, but nothing has been done. Horrible business. If I could give zero stars I would.
Edit....it is now January of 2025 and still nothing has been done. Don't take your taxes to them, they will rob you blind and then never respond to you again. They will owe me over $500 but I never get an email response or a call back. Horrible people

BEWARE!!!!!!
They didn't even file my 22 taxes, have done nothing but give me the run around! Sherry and Debbie Jackson! Said they couldn't access my files cause they were done in mount Vernon and they had to contact corporate. No return phone calls. I contacted corporate myself and an agent out of Winnsboro got with me and was able to give me the information needed!! Taxes were paid in full at time service was rendered, cause they won't file your taxes without payment. Taxes never filled, now I owe IRS. Guess they just pocket the money. Neither one is never in the office or helping someone when you call, and they never return phone calls. So unless you want your taxes complete messed up or to pay for them to do tour taxes twice, I wouldn't use this office. 3 years I filled with them 3 years taxes messed up! Nightmare!!!

The location in Mount Vernon which is part of the Mount Pleasant location is completely lacking in the knowledge of tax filing. They do not have staff on hand who are equipped to handle many average tax questions. Our taxes had to be done remotely by staff members whom were not even present because the MV office could not help us. Our taxes were not ready when we were told they were so we showed up and had to sit for over an hour for them to be done “remotely”. Our taxes were barely explained to us without us having to ask a ton of questions and then were made to feel like we were an imposition for asking understandable questions about something as important as tax filing with the IRS. We were told we should’ve done our taxes earlier as if the lack of competent tax staff was somehow our fault. We will never return to H&R Block after this experience.

I’m overhearing everyone in the back laughing talking about their Easter plans
It’s now 2:19 and STILL no one has been out to say hello how are you WTH!!!! I’m taxes are easy to do … I will just go do them on line !!!!! What is wrong with people in mount pleasant!!!! Why are they so lazy … I would be freaking out if this was my business .

My return was rejected by the irs. She redid it and it was rejected a second time. I have been calling for a week now and always get told they will call me back that evening, and nobody ever does. Pretty sure something was jacked up because I always file the same way with the same dependents on their app and never have a problem. Wouldnt suggest.

Horrible customer service. They set up appointments with us two different times and failed to show up at the office . We waited for an hour each time with 3 kids. Sherry was the issue !!!! Jackson and Hewitt Here we come .

If you value your money, you will avoid this location. I filed my 2021 taxes with this branch. They told me the IRS rejected my return because someone had already used my daughters social security number. They told me that they would mail in my return and help me fight the IRS on it. After months of not hearing anything back, I began to call them and try to find out what was going on. They are only open a couple of days during the week during the off season, but the days they were open the branch manager was never there. After almost 6 weeks I finally got a call from someone there, not the branch manager. They told me that someone had put my return in the completed stack. They told me to come pick up my return and mail it myself and that they were no longer handling it. I finally got a letter from the IRS stating that since I took so long to file I was penalized and now I owe them $1900. The incompetence of this branch is immeasurable . If you want to safely file your taxes, DO NOT FILE AT THIS BRANCH.
