I was able to donate gently used items to the animal Shelter on multiple occasions. I also bought my pets licenses. Wish 2 yr tags could be available or on line and mailed, getting out of the parking lot onto 59S is a bit tricky noon-ish

We picked up out new puppy here. Lovely staff. Polite and knowledgeable. They set us up for success with our latest family member.

Incredibly rude and unwelcoming. I walked in and they talked for about 4 minutes completely ignoring me. Had a question about an animal and again, they talked and completely ignored me for 2 minutes until I had to talk over them to ask. The animal's cages were clean at least and they all had fresh water. Work on your customer service.

Well, Nacogdoches Animal Shelter is awesome! I adopted two beautiful siamese cats here 2 years ago. They also very prompt to educate the owners who are not aware of the law or simply don't follow it. Nacogdoches Animal Shelter keeps the city safe! Very kind, efficient and well organized organization!

This place just called them wanting to bring in a stray dog wants me to pay 15$ to surrender a dog an I ask if they are a no kill or low kill shelter an this guy goes an says I mean if we have to put them down we will. Like um excuse me that's just cruel unless that animal is on its last life or is horribly aggressive id understand but that wasn't the case. I do not recommend this place to bring any strays in.

Employees looked overwhelmed with the amount of animals coming in or checking out. But overall it was a positive experience in the end. I adopted the most precious kitten

My daughter is a student at SFA and lives in a local apartment complex. She and her small dog were chased and attacked by a feral cat that was very aggressive when unprovoked. My daughter had to make a trip to the ER. She then called Animal Control about the issue hoping for help so that she nor anyone else would be attacked again. Within 24 hours Animal Control came out for an interview and were so compassionate and helpful. Within 72 hours of the attack the cat was caught. We are so relieved. THANK YOU so much for your quick response and for protecting my daughter and other individuals from any future attacks by this cat and for your compassion in the situation! We are so grateful to you !!!!!

Nice and respectful staff! My roommate and I had a problem and the team and the manger (Teresa) were happy to help and give us the information we needed.
In addition, when adopting please make sure to read and not just sign, then later on blame the stuff.

We had to put a cat into quarantine (she bit us on the way to the vet), and they were very supportive and understanding. The shelter was closed to the public at that early hour, but I called and someone met me at the door promptly.

This shelter is awesome. I can say this more or less objectively after visiting the Baton Rouge shelter which was atrocious. I got my cat from there and he’s so gentle and cool and well adjusted. He also came microchipped vaccinated and neutered for an adoption fee of 50. You’d have a hard time getting just the neuter done for less than 100, so it’s really a great opportunity to get a companion animal and support a truly top notch shelter.
