I have been taking all of my dogs to Banfield and never had a worse experience. Upon making my first appointment the lady was very rude with me trying to get my dog in around my work schedule. I’m new to Texas from Florida & I was sent to the wrong location that didn’t have a Banfield; they made absolutely no effort to help or have grace in the situation. Drove 30 minutes for them to tell me they couldn’t take my dog anymore. I have never experienced such poor customer service at a Banfield, not even a manager to speak with the voice my disappointment and frustration. I will never return to this location.

Worse customer service I have ever seen. I was 3rd on the list and it took them an hr to get to and waited another hr and they still haven’t gotten to the dog yet, claiming there are others in front.

The service, let's say it's complicated , but I was warned about over vaccination and excessive fees by others, but I still wanted to give it a chance.I have 2 very large and beautiful Great Danes. One had a mass on his side that could have just been a mole. To be safe, we elected to aspirate it, and if not working with aspiration, then biopsy it, during his teeth cleaning, & to minimize sedation risks with large breeds. Due to the timing, we had to wait 2 months until he was just at his 6-month teeth cleaning time frame. I was quoted $500 additional with my current plan to biopsy the mass during the teeth cleaning. The other option was to use sedation 2x in 2 months, which was not advised. We were instructed to watch the mass, as we did. It grew a little, and a skin tag appeared. Of course, our dog chewed off the skin tag. It was clean, and I luckily caught the act and intervened.I still go to the appointment for the teeth cleaning, explain the mass and skin tag. I'm then told it would be an additional $2,000 for the biopsy, and to add to it, our monthly premium would increase by 20% per month.I never received any email communication to the increase or any communication that our plan would auto renew. When I signed up, I asked specifically to make sure the plan wouldn't auto renew. When talking with customer service, there was little understanding, no accountability for Banifeilds' lack of communication, or following my direct financial request. I received a ton of excuses for a lack of better explanation. After my sweet boy's teeth cleaning, I'm told there are some issues on his gums that need to be addressed but Banfield San Marcos is unable to address them and I need to take him to a dentist. They couldn't or wouldn't do the skin biopsy for the quoted price. In all, my beautiful big boy was put under anthestisa for nothing, Then I'm told by the Vet to take him else where to receive additional care. That's not okay.If you are unable to provide a full comprehensive service, when a pet owner expresses their full concerns. A pet owner who follows the American Keenel Club , Grateful Paw, Great Dane Club of America, and is a 4th time Great Dane owner, you shouldn't be providing suboptimal care. If a large breed needs dental intervention, you should notice this and evaluate this before putting them under and cleaning their teeth. Especially if you don't have the tools or skills to care for the issue.I took him somewhere else, and all is now fine, but what we went through was unnecessary and unbearable. I thought I was advocating well for our boy, and I have never been this blind sided by incompetence.I'm still finishing up my contract because I hear it's hell to get out of, and I just don’t want to deal with the headache. Even though our boys are being cared for by a different Veteranary all together now. Banfield, I was hoping for more, and you did not deliver.

Bad experience on a follow up visit. It speaks volume when people doesn’t respect my time. I called a day in advance to confirm my appointment. Later that same day Banfield asked to change that time. The next day I arrived early and was told another change in time. Now I’m pressed for time and my only option was to drop off my dog. But to have the audacity to tell me “You need to be back before we close” was another insult. Who’s being inconvenience here? Don’t get it twisted and you need to change that tone.

We arrived on time for appointment I had scheduled for Diesels rabies shot. I was told his insurance for rabies was not good until the 31st of August so I had to reschedule it for the 13th of September. This actually turned out to be better as I had a dental appointment at 6 p.m. and was able to make one less trip to New Braunfels that day. ❤️?❤️

Went online to make an appointment ... Appointment Confirmed.Showed up for said appointment, and the receptionist informed me that I did not have an appointment because I was not on their books. I asked her when my very sick dog could get in ... She looked and told me it would be a week. I told her that my dog would be dead by then. She shrugged her shoulders and kind of laughed! Definitely need to get someone up front that has more sympathy than that! To me, she could have asked one of the veterinarians if they could see me in an emergency and work me in. Thanx, but No Thanx!!

I can always count on Banfield to take care of my fur baby. Turns out she had a UTI and they were able to get her meds, recommended a diet change, and back to me in about 8 hours. Hooray for the pet insurance saving me about $500! They’re always incredibly nice and caring. Highly recommend if your fur child ever has vet needs.

Really bad experience here. Had to make multiple payments for nothing in return. Felt extorted for money for several months, and it’s not even over yet. Still have to make payments till July?

We had been wellness plan members for our 2 dogs for several years, paying them almost $1000/year for the plans, yet every visit comes with more fees, add-ons, and things we “must” purchase. Our last couple visits had an additional $600 in costs, with promises of $400/month for the next several months to treat an auto immune disease, even though our pet was asymptomatic. We got a second opinion from another vet who found that not only were the doses of the meds that Banfield wanted were crazy high (and costly) but the lab work they were using to treat this disease was most likely erroneous. The other vet performed her own blood work and found absolutely nothing wrong. If it wasn’t for that second opinion, we’d be another $1600 into Banfield on top of the $600 we already paid, and the $1000 they get from us yearly. They’ll play on your fears and dope your pets up on everything they can. Find a family vet, they’ll care about your pets and not just constantly up-sell you.

Customer service is lacking. I need to get a new prescription for my cat's food. He was here in December. They didn't renew his prescription food and now I'm standing in line been standing in line for 15 minutes and none of these people will even acknowledge my existence do I recommend this place? No, the only reason why they get one star is because you have to give them a star on yelp.

An update to my last review, I have not received services from Banfield so this is simply based on my experience with the front desk. I received a call from the manager of this location I believe and it seems that my experience was an isolated incident. My concerns were looked into and addressed.
