I have never been to a restaurant like this. You walk in the door and are greeted with the butcher, he's got an assortment of meats laid out, you tell him how much you want, he slaps it on a tray and hands it off to the next guy. That guy proceeds to slice up what you got and put it in butcher paper on a tray. Head down the line and pick out cole slaw, potato salad, garden salad (cold selections), next another guy dishes out your choice of warm selections, macaroni and cheese, cobblers. Beans are around the corner and are complimentary as are pickles, jalapenos, onions and sliced bread. We got 4 pork ribs, 2 thick slices of Turkey and brisket, potato salad, cole slaw, peach cobbler, 2 small drinks and small vanilla ice cream. $80! It was delicious and brought home enough for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow! No plates, you get a piece of paper to put stuff on, sit at long community picnic tables. Try it, you'll like it!

I'm new to NB with two small boys. We heard that Cooper's was the best for bbq. My boys love bbq and they LOVE pork chops, which led me to Cooper's. As Cooper's deserves, they were sold out of the pork chop when I called for a pick up order. I am going through a lot on a personal level, but when I showed up.. before I could even walk through the door...I was welcomed outside their door with the most amazing bbq EVER....all wrapped up and ready to go. DELICIOUS!!!!!!!I won't even go into detail of what they did for my family, because it was a very special moment between my family and this establishment. The food is exactly what their reputation has lived up to and WAY MORE. THE STAFF....MIC DROP. It's a beautiful thing to see real, true to their heart people that appreciate others... vice versa. Cooper's you imprinted on me and my boys. We're on our way up to get more.

First time at this restaurant. My order of green beans was the last of the pan. Just didn't think I would be served the remnants of pan. Very salty couldn't eat it.

Visited New Braunfels Texas to visit friends who used to live in San Diego with us. They highly recommended for all time pit and barbecue. We didn't know what to expect but the place is amazing. When you first walk in you give them the order how many pounds of meat that you want. They have turkey beef and pork as well as ribs this follows a long salad bar where you can pick out whatever you want at the very end is the dessert bar and probably everybody's favorite. Our hosts picked a number of different items and they were served family style on large tables. The food was typical barbecue but I really like the idea especially if you come with a big group to select what everybody wants and self-serving it at your own table. This was really a first for us and I would gladly go back again. We were traveling in a motorhome and really wanted to go back and get some barbecue for the return trip but things didn't work out.If you haven't tried this place you happen to find yourself around the brunt felt Texas I would highly recommend you Google and try this place out. While there is no table service and it is more like café the keep things like bread and beans full on separate serving tables and you can get whatever drinks you desire including soft drinks and coffee. Beer is available at extra cost.Appears to be to be a little expensive when you consider your ordering by the pound or partial pound in the long run I think you come out ahead especially if you bring your family or group of friendsParking: This is a good-sized parking lot and I'm sure you will not have any problem finding a space. The restaurant does get a little busy so you may need to walk but it's only about 100 feet

I sent them this information via the “contact me” on their website and never heard back (2 weeks later) so I’m posting here:I’m a long time customer and huge fan but I had a really bad experience. I asked for half a pound of brisket to go; it was .80 pounds, which I didn’t realize until after I’d paid. The pitmaster didn’t ask if I wanted that or my rib dipped in sauce, the beef rib was very oversalted and the two baked potatos hadn’t been prepared correctly. I don’t know if they were even washed, because they were gritty and tasted like dirt. Like I said, ordinarily a huge fan but it was bad.
