Well appointed, chill place. Coffee is fresh - like, really fresh and robust. Beans are roasted to perfection, and fast comes through in the flavor of all of their coffee drinks. The people that work there are sweet and patient, even with people who are strangers to the world of coffee. Love their sandwiches and pastries, too. You can't miss with anything they offer at Roots.Parking: Easy to find a spot near the entrance.

Food options are great. Lots of vegan bakery items and gluten free. Don't order a hot latte. They have over steamed my latte the last 4 times I've been in there and it's way too hot to drink when I get it. I'd say it's about 155° F or more. Ideal latte temp in a Togo cup would be about 135°-140° for ideal drinking temp. Owner just take note. Thanks!Dietary restrictions: Multiple Gluten free and vegan options available in the bakery items.

Roots has really good coffee and shop aesthetic. The staff is very kind as well. They recently added more space, which resolves the biggest detriment this place had.

(This is an update to my initial review) I went to Roots for years until my son with intellectual disabilities was treated poorly. I talked to the manager at the time. What she told me about his "behavior" was laughable. It was innocuous comments from someone who is intellectually and developmentally disabled. My son has a communication disorder, which should be obvious to anyone who talks to him for a few minutes. He had only gone back to Roots a few times recently for the first time in years. He was sitting there eating his sandwich and said he overheard someone talking badly about him. Out in the open where other customers can hear! Then before he knows it, a police officer is approaching him. I have filed an open records request for the officer's body cam footage. I talked to another officer and he told me the report said that my son had done NOTHING WRONG last Saturday. My son is NOT a threat to anyone. He has NEVER made any threats to anyone. He's NEVER stalked, NEVER assaulted, NEVER harassed ANYONE. He is a good, kindhearted, compassionate person who would NEVER hurt anyone. If he's anything, he's a protector. My son is friends with a former Roots employee. He's been to this guy's parent's house for parties, been to Bible studies with this friend. There is something called the Americans with Disabilities Act that Roots staff should be aware of. My son is one of the kindest people I know. I'm not. I'm the mother of a son with special needs and I am very protective of him because of people like the staff at this Roots location. Because of his disabilities, for the rest of my life I will need to be his advocate. BTW, my son spent the first eight years of his life in a Romanian orphanage. I adopted him from Romania 25 years ago. I've learned that many people are uncomfortable around people with disabilities, esp intellectual ones. The barista could have asked my son to leave. She did NOT need to call the cops when he wasn't doing anything wrong. The fact that he was treated this way is absolutely pathetic. If anyone thinks calling the cops on someone with who has ID instead of talking to the person and kindly asking them to leave, then IMO, you are the problem, not my son. You know what he said to me? "It confused me. I was just talking like a human being."

This has to be one of the best coffee spots. The staff were friendly, atmosphere was chill and it had a super nice environment to have a conversation. 10 more stars for coffee and food. This was my first time over here and the cake in the picture has to be one of the best things i’ve ever eaten but couldn’t quite catch its name. Please Roots Coffeehouse, tell me what it is???

A great little find with good coffee and pastries. We stopped in to get a quick pick up and enjoyed our coffee in non-traditional cups. The scones were tasty and a little different.

Love this little coffee spot! The coffee is really good, I've tried the cold brew, and a couple different seasonal lattes. Their cruffins are delicious and the avocado toast is really tasty. The atmosphere is fantastic. It's got a cozy, relaxed feeling and lots of places to sit and enjoy conversations. They also sell coffees, local honey, and other various specialty items.

Wanted to try somewhere local for some drip coffee rather than Starbucks. Unfortunately the coffee was on par with your average gas station coffee, and when I got back to my hotel I found myself dumping it out to get the free coffee in the lobby instead.Service and atmosphere were OK

To start, in regards to the products, the have many vegetarian, some vegan, and some gluten free options for foods as well as non-dairy options for milk. About the atmosphere and service, I've been a frequent patron of Roots since 2016 and the whole time they've maintained a level of excellence in quality of coffee and atmosphere. The beans used in house (Novel Coffee Roasters) are absolutely fantastic and their practices of making the drinks provides top tier quality and taste every time. As for the atmosphere, the staff, though it's changed through the years, has always been kind, friendly, helpful, and full of great conversations. Moreover, they've often been available to speak to and take action on customers who are putting a damper on the atmosphere or causing issues. I recommend Roots to literally any and everyone I possibly can.
