I drove from Houston TX to this location in Oakwood because on the website it that that it was affiiated with the Oakwood Bank locations in Dallas, TX. I was wanting to cash a check that was written on an Oakwood Bank account and this location refused to cash the check. They said because it was not one of their local clients. they suggested that I drive into Dallas to cash the check(which I did). That location was shocked when I told them of my bnaking experience at the bank in Oakwood, TX. I feel that because I was a black woman they did not cash the check. The bank in Dallas had no problem cashing the check and it was not one of their account holders. All they did was verify that the check was legitimate and cashed the check. The were very apologetic for this banks actions.

This is exactly how the banking industry should be run. Oakwood State Bank is a small hometown bank where everyone knows your name and treats you like family. Keep up the excellent service!!! 🇺🇸

This is the smallest bank in Texas, and probably the U.S. It should be declared a historic place. Over 100 yrs. old, this is where you should take your business if you want a personal touch and honest integrity. No atms, no drive through service, but real people and real faces with real families. Go by and see how this country became great. An American treasure, God bless them, and God bless Texas!
