About South Texas ISD Medical Professions
South Texas ISD Medical Professions is one of four STISD magnet high schools serving students in grades 9-12 from Cameron, Hidalgo and Willacy Counties, and is located in Olmito, Texas. Students develop medical and clinical skills in area hospitals and doctor's offices. Many students earn certifications as clinical medical assistants, EKG technicians, emergency medical technicians, patient care technicians, pharmacy technicians, phlebotomy technicians, medical lab assistants, certified ophthalmic assistants and as national entry-level dental assistants and registered dental assistants.

Several administrators, including the counselor are not performing the job title as they should. Some techers try to do their job, but is always a democracy involved. Unfortunately, a sad reality.
