I wanted to like and trust this place so bad. However, I just didn't get the best feeling after my quote. I brought my truck here to get a diagnosis for some transmission problems I was having. I was getting stuck in third gear other than that the truck would run just fine. I was told that it was my valve body... then told I would need a new transmission and that he would rebuild mine for $5000-$5500. That simply doesn't make sense to me. When I plug my scan tool into my truck and delete the code making my check engine light come on, turn off my truck, turn it back on, keeping my vehicle in park not touching the transmission what so ever, within a few minutes my check engine light will turn back on. That tells me that something electrical is going on. Not that I need a whole new transmission. I looked online for a rebuild kit that had everything to build a new transmission top to bottom INCLUDING the valve body, solenoid, and the stall convertor for $1500. He says he charges I believe $120 an hour. If we do some math it would take him 33 or so hours with that quote... a master transmission specialist.... there would be no way it would take that long. Max 16 hours. I looked online at O'Reilly's and you can get a rebuilt transmission for $3200 for a normal customer and $2700 for a commercial customer. These people say that they are going to rebuild my transmission.. I don't believe that, its more likely that they would purchase one and install it and then charge me the $5500 saying they rebuilt it. I was thinking it could have been a wiring issue which is what I was told was checked and everything was plugged in correctly. Of course not mandatory but it would have been nice to see some photos of the wiring just as proof that my vehicle did in fact get looked at. I've had other shops do that and it was a very nice touch. Once again not mandatory but it would have been nice seeing as my vehicle did sit for many days before it was looked at after being told to bring it in on a specific day (Monday) which I did and I had to call many times to even get my vehicle that spot and it wasn't even worked on, on that Monday. I do know about vehicles I just don't have the time and professional equipment to get the job done quickly which is what I was looking for so this isn't a fact but I have been around and seen how shops operate and this shop definitely gave the impression that they just wanted to make money off me.. a quick plug and play with a new transmission. I just don't trust these people after that diagnosis. I gave my $250 to get my truck back and will not return. When I get the time to fix it myself, I will come back and let you readers know if in fact I did have to get a new transmission or not.

Those Freeman boys are amazing...they got my husband's truck in and out in a couple days...it's shifting again..yayyy John's been driving my car but we are a 2 vehicle couple so when they called and said it's ready, I almost threw a party..hah! So thanks to all at Bakers for being the best...

they rebuilt the transmission in my wifes car, i had already done some researching to see what could be done to prevent the transmission failure as we were on the third transmission. baker said they upgrade everything that was a weak point in it. turnaround time was 3 days which is what he told me. cant ask for anything else. great work and done on time

Jeff & Greg has done a great job on rebuilding my transmission. They even helped me figure out that my motor was needing to be serviced as well. After everything was done, I can't be more impressed at the function and quality of the repair. I hope to never have to rebuild a transmission again, but if I do, I am going to Bakers! Thank you both!!

$550 to fix a $6 part. 45 minute job. I guess if you need an expert to fix your Shifter cable, you have to put your dollars up. Labor Cost $500 per hour.

This tranmission Shop is absolutely, most highly NOT RECOMMENED. I had my car brought here to have a transmission service done on my car. Also my car gas tank was completely empty. Mr Jeff call me that evening saying my car won't start. That it will crank than stall. And my reply, was look at dash it's says 0.0 on the gas mlog. I had 2 gallon jug of super that was to be left with car. But it wasn't and ended up on my front porch and I don't understand why ? So I asked Mr. Jeff he could ticket me for gas or I can bring him my jug. Mr Jeff said well alright it takes unleaded right. After I just told him my 2 gallon jug was filled with super.... so again I respected myself to him and said super only. Mr Jeff called me next morning said has your car been flooded and my reply was no why? He said well you need to come pickup car cause your gas tank has water in it and I'm a transmission guy only. I was confused and asked him how is this possible and you know for sure? Mr. Jeff reply back was ya one of my guys pulled you tank hose off and it was nothing but water. So I told him I would be up there later today. I show up and asked him we both know my tank was empty and he had went to store for gas that he needed to fix this and Mr Jeff story changed and he said it was his son who got gas for my car not him. I then asked Mr Jeff what gas station did your tht get it.? Mr Jeff reply was nothing he ignored me and I had to ask him more than four times and Mr Jeff reply finally was why does it matter ?? Mr Jeff customer service was negative and disrespectful towards me with attitude on anything I asked about. This
