We visited with my elderly mobility impaired parents in December. We were assured that the room selected was a handicap accessible room with bars in the bath etc.. The room was only hearing accessible not as stated on the reservation or confirming with the front desk it was what was needed and reserved. I did ask when we departed to speak to a manager and was told none was available and that I could call later. I was disappointed that the room was not as safe as it should have been and not as requested. We are Hilton loyal and have been for years. Otherwise, the location is good and the accomodations were clean and fresh. Please, please, please, just make sure when you confirm and tell someone something that it is correct information.

Very clean. Texas in general is lovely and everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Our stay was nice and breakfast was exceptional.

The hotel was fine but the town was scary and I don't think I'll stop next time passing thru. If you are on a road trip either stop before or after this seedy little town.

It's post-COVID. Texas is OPEN. When I look on their site in the Hilton app it states remodeling going on for exterior. Ok I can deal with that. I even asked when we arrived, are the rooms updated and or in good condition. Looking at the lobby, there's no way I want to stay if the room resembles what I'm seeing with all walks stripped and in the middle of being repaired/updated. The clerk at desk said, no! Rooms are great! Since I'd already paid using points thru my Hilton Honors app as a good member, I resigned to staying there. I was never greeted as a HH member. They do offer HH members a check-in treat, which I asked for and received. Still never greeted or heard thanks for being a HH member. The third floor hall was HOT and humid. Apparently no A/C? They had de-humidifiers stationed along the walls - not sure if they were running. The room was coolBut smelled musty, which I'm guessing has to do with the old brown carpeting having gotten moist at some point. Room had a mini fridge - that we discovered this am didn't actually keep things cold despite being on. The microwave was small and it functioned but you could. Really tell how long anything was cooking for - it has a dial-type button ranging from 2-30min in 2 min increments. The only other button was one that you could flip to defrost or cook. Probably the cheapest quality model I've ever seen. The bed needs updating - the mattress definitely had a sag to it. The rest of the room was fine and on par except they didn't have any USB plugs - but I had one in car i pulled out to use. The bathroom - well 5-stars on the toilet that was strong enough to suck in a small toddler lol. The shower was obviously older and with glass sliding Doors in that 70s style opaque glass. The shower was a full stall and clean. The cabinet on wall was missing a door front that had evidence of being broken off it. The towels were decent. Coffee maker and ice bucket in room. although they took the ice maker off third floor, there was a functioning one on 2nd floor. The biggest disappointment was the so-called breakfast. Had I know it would be microwave jimmy dean sandwiches or questionable aged pastries in plastic and no cereal, oatmeal or fruit I would NOT have chosen this site. The orange juice I had must have been un-chilled at some point because it had that super tangy-acid taste and 30 min later my stomach was churning! Especially when I asked about breakfast the night before and it was never divulged, hey btw, we are not serving a real breakfast. We requested a late check out and we're given a generous time of 1pm. However the room keys stopped working after 11 am, and nobody had mentioned to come to office in am To get room keys re-set. On the positive side, the am and pm desk clerks were friendly - they get 5 stars for that part.
