I made an appointment and Mr.Vandenberg solved my problem in precisely 3 minutes then diagnosed the stuck round as being defective. He would not take the money that I insisted he take for his time spent.We left with a handshake that I should do someone else a favor.I looked around his shop and he has so many degrees that Pete Hegseth the Secretary of War would say well done Mr.Vandenberg.Great Job!!

I had the most pleasant experience meeting and talking with a very professional and knowledgeable gunsmith. He has a wealth of knowledge with many years of experience in his craft to back up the advice he gives you. I left his business with valuable knowledge and advice that could save me time, money and headaches in the future when buying preferred easy to fix brands of rifles or pistols. He informed me about servicing issues with certain brands that are more expensive vs. cheaper but more reliable options or alternatives that are also easier to fix, find or replace parts. Needless to say I was extremely impressed and I will return in the future to service any issues cosmetic or mechanical with any of the weapons I own.

Ed installed a red dot optic on my 1911 .45 acp. During the process, he discovered that it would not zero. He researched it and found a resolution. He informed me of what he needed to finish the job correctly. I ordered the shim that he needed and he finished the job. That was over a year ago. Today, anyone can shoot that pistol out to 25 yards and keep the hole punches inside 8 inches easily! I am now about to bring another pistol to him for another optic mount. If you want a rush job, go elsewhere. If you want the job done right, Vanden Berg Customs is your place!

I have had several 1911 pistols worked on in the last 20+ years. I just had a 30 06 rebarreled in 338 06. This is the most accurate rifle I have ever fired. All of his work has been excellent constantly.

Ed recently pillar bedded a vintage bolt action hunting rifle and did an fantastic job. The bolt slides into and out of the action so smoothly, better than when the rifle was brand new.
