I have eaten inside this restaurant a couple times and I actually like the food. Tonight I ordered to-go for the first time. After I placed my order which was at 7:50pm the hostess called me back at 8:05 to say they were out of one of my items. She said they would be closing soon. I asked if they closed at 9, since those were the hours that were displayed on their website. She said they start closing the kitchen at 8:30. I ordered fried avocado instead of the chile relleno that I wanted. When I got to the restaurant it was 8:23. While I waited for my food, two customers walked in. She told them the kitchen was closed. Then proceeded to turn off their open sign as I walked out. When I got home the fried avocado had cold diced chicken in it. I couldn't even cut through the enchilada with a fork. They gave me Carne Guisada with no tortillas and a random cup of queso. Ive worked in the restaurant business before so I understand wanting to go home but to just straight up turn customers away is kind of crazy. If your business hours say 9pm online you should be accepting orders until then. Yes its annoying but to halfway cook orders because you want to go home early is bad for business. I hate that I have to leave this review because I actually liked this place. I was very disappointed with my experience tonight. I didn't even eat my food.

Ordered to go meals and they were wrong when I got them home. Queso was lumpy and didn't come with chips $8. Cheese enchiladas were supposed to be vegetarian and it had meat. Way to loud to talk to anyone during the meal.

I accidently ate here again. Still bad. The below review is from a year ago, still valid.....The food was mediocre and the booth kept sliding out from underneath us. We hurried through our food because it was so uncomfortable to sit.

My fiancé and I ate here and we're severely underwhelmed. The rice and beans tasted like canned beans that had been stored in a plastic baggie for a while. They both had a plastic-like taste to them. We both didn't eat more than 2-3 bites before giving up. The queso was flavorless and not enjoyable, and the cheese inside my enchiladas wasn't great either. The DJ music was so loud we could barely hear each other across the table and our waitress barely paid notice to us. We had to wait 20 minutes to get her attention so we could pay our bill and get out of there. The margs were jusr okay and tasted like cheap tequila. The one positive thing I can say is that their food and drinks were affordable.Suggestion for the restaurant - Being a new restaurant, maybe focus a bit more on the quality of your food and the service you provide to your customers so you can gain a good reputation from the start.

Shoulda caught her name. Our waitress was on it. Quick to help us place our order, checked on often but not interrupting our conversations, and ready with the check without having the ask. We only popped in to put a little happy into our hour. The chips and salsa were delicious worth buying to take home more. While the mexican egg rolls were flavorful they were also dripping with grease. The mexican martini was more like a salty lime capri sun. Great location, beautiful new redo to the decor. I'll try again but order differently.

Food was ok. Unfortunately, they had a live band that was so loud that I had to shout to the person sitting next to me just to be heard.

It's good just the music but expensive 4 tacos so small that you only ate one bite and two margaritas were 49 dollars

The food was nothing special. It sat heavy after eating. We had a lot of trouble getting anything we needed, including tortillas for my fajitas I had to ask for four times from three different people. The servers were very friendly, but it was a real problem. The place wasn't busy. I'm not sure what was going on.We did get chips and salsa right away.Kid-friendliness: They were sweet to kids, but didn't have many kid beverages.

As I was pulling up, the parking lot was pretty much empty, so first red flag. Went in, the host wasn’t even behind the host desk, she was towards the back by the bar talking to some guy… literally watching me walk in. I stood there for about a minute looking at her, literally making eye contact with her and she finally came to seat me. After being seated, the waitress came took my drink order, I asked for small margarita with tajin salt on rim, she brung me it with regular salt so I told her take it back. She took it back and brang me a bigger glass. I was not wanting to drink that much. Anywho.. food finally came, just as I was about to eat my rice and beans, realized I was never given silverware… luckily I had a crispy taco(which was nasty by the way) that I didn’t need silverware for, so I ate that while waiting on my silverware. Once I got home, I was sick from the nasty food and drink. Only good thing I got was some girls out cookies as I was leaving, they were outside in front of the restaurant. NEVER AGAIN.

I've never seen anyone serve a margarita flight before, but it's a damn good idea! Rio Grande has 7 or 8 flavors to choose from and you get 4 to a board. Makes for a great liquid lunch!I guess this place just reopened? Whole joint seemed new...was shut down for renovations and may be under new management. We live nearby but never stopped in before. The drinks are obviously great, but the food wasn't as exciting. Seems to cater to the Tex side of Tex Mex. Pricing was fair. Portions were fair. Taste was fair. Quality of ingredients was more than fair. Atmosphere (during lunch) was a bit reserved but comfortable. Wide range of patrons so I get the feeling the locals (including me) are interested in Rio Grande and trying to understand it's identity.Regardless, it's worth another shot. Will go for dinner and update my review then.
