Don't remember being there

So I stop at the Exxon in Pilot Point, just looking to gas up and grab a quick snack. It’s one of those dusty Texas afternoons where everything feels like it’s melting—including my patience. I head inside, grab a cold Diet Pepsi and a 5th Avenue bar, because apparently I felt like being the only person on Earth eating one in 2025.
I’m standing in line, minding my own business, when in walks this guy from Tioga—how do I know he’s from Tioga? Because he announces it to the cashier, the moment he steps in like he’s checking into a damn rodeo: “Y’all better have Copenhagen and cold beer, I drove all the way from Tioga!”
He’s wearing a sleeveless shirt, cargo shorts, and a bluetooth headset like it’s 2009. Starts pacing around the store like it’s his living room, talking loud enough for folks across the county to hear. He bumps into the snack rack, knocks over a stand of beef jerky, and blames it on “the damn tile being uneven.”
Meanwhile, I just want to pay for my sad candy bar and sugar-free soda and get back on the road. But no—this guy gets up behind me and goes, “Ain’t nobody eats 5th Avenue bars unless they’re over 90 or makin’ a bad life decision.” I turn, give him the kind of look you reserve for possums in your garage, and say, “Well congratulations, you just met both.”
The cashier snorts, trying not to laugh. Tioga Man mutters something about how “people from Denton County don’t know real candy,” and storms out empty-handed—no Copenhagen, no cold beer, just ego and BO.
I paid for my stuff, walked out with dignity and a Diet Pepsi, and rode off into the sunset with a crunchy candy bar and my pride intact.

Excellent gas station, market and especially great taqueria! Best tacos I’ve had in the Pilot Point area. I live in Little Elm and would drive back out just for the Tacos. Thank you Mr. Lazar

Gas is most of time 30 cents more than anywhere else in pilot point. I just use there fresh window wipers for the bugs on my car.

Very nice place, lots of choices, and friendly staff with a sense of humor! ?Bathrooms for more than one would be smart as the was a shortish wait at lunch. Still, 5 ⭐
