“Stopped by the Tioga Post Office while out on a weekend road trip, and it turned out to be one of those little stops that makes traveling through small towns so enjoyable. The post office has a friendly, hometown feel, but what really caught my attention was the veteran display in the lobby honoring local veterans. It’s a wonderful reminder of the folks from this community who served our country, and you can tell there’s some real pride and appreciation behind it. Sometimes the best parts of a road trip aren’t the big tourist attractions—they’re the small places and pieces of local history you happen to stumble across along the way. The Tioga Post Office is one of those stops. A nice little piece of small-town Texas worth taking a few minutes to see if you’re passing through.”

“Stopped by this post office while passing through town, and I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly and helpful the staff was. Great service and a welcoming hometown atmosphere. So a little history about this Post Office. Before it was called Aubrey, the little settlement was known as Onega. When the Texas & Pacific Railway came through in 1881, a depot was built and the community needed a post office. Several names were suggested, and according to local history, the name “Aubrey” was drawn from a hat. That name was then used for the new post office — and eventually the town itself. 1st operating out of the Train Depot and now in this new building. PO stop 353”
