I recently visited Ace Hardware to purchase a conversion kit for my Stihl leaf blower, allowing it to work as a leaf vacuum. When the store didn’t have the kit, I was instead sold a leaf blower/vacuum, which I later discovered was identical to my current model and only required an $80 conversion kit, not an entirely new piece of equipment. Had the employee known this I would not of purchased the same blower.
The employee who assisted me seemed unfamiliar with the product and didn’t know how to start it (I actually had to show him). Additionally, they couldn't find the instruction manual, so I left without it. After using the blower for 10 minutes at home, I found it wasn’t what I was expecting. The employee also scoffed at me when I told him the short duration the equipment was used. Upon researching, I realized it was the exact same model as my own and that I had only needed the conversion kit.
When I returned to the store to ask if I could return the blower and order the kit instead, things took a strange turn. Since I had paid in cash, I felt the situation was handled oddly. The employee stepped away to make a call to the manager, and after a private conversation, he came back to tell me the return wouldn’t be allowed. Even after I explained that I only wanted to exchange it and was willing to purchase additional items, like a pole trimmer, and the conversion kit....he refused to involve the manager or work with me.
Feeling something wasn’t right, I left the equipment at the store and contacted the corporate office, who assured me that I would hear from the manager. Overall, this experience left me disappointed with the service and handling of the situation. I expected better product knowledge, transparency, and customer service from this location.

I don’t normally write reviews but I had to give a shout out to Sean at Ace Hardware Plano. I came in needing bolts and screws to put a projector together and Sean immediately helped me, found exactly what was needed, after having to do a little search because it was a different size, and even took everything to the back to tighten it so I was ready to go!! What GREAT & HELPFUL customer service!! Thank you Ace Hardware and Sean!

The young man who waited on me was so helpful. He went over and above. I was so happy to get the same great service from the Plano location as I do at my regular store on Gaston, in Dallas. Ace is the Place!

Ace Hardware Plano has many of the grilling sauces, rubs, and seasonings you can’t find elsewhere. I came for Deez Nuts and left with a Happy Ending

its ok. the store manager dosent know anything about what he has in stock or what half the things even do. they should have someone that atleast knows their products. i know its hard to find help. but come. that was just stupid

This was the first time that I walked into a Ace and the individual proceeded to be rude and very unhelpful. This reassures me that every Ace location is not alike. The Individual is an older Asian male with salt and pepper hair
