Needed assistance with a horribly stripped screw. Handyman in there named Steve helped me find and buy the right tools, went to the parking lot, and didn’t just tell me what to do but physically helped me with my problem. You do not get that kind of service from the big box stores, and it’s the reason why I continue to use Ace and a reason why I’ve given two difference Ace Hardware stores 5-stars.
They know what they’re doing and they are incredibly helpful.

After several trips to Lowe’s, where I was repeatedly told I needed to replace my entire faucet because of a leaking spray attachment, I decided to stop by Ace Hardware on Parker Road in Plano. From the moment I walked in, the experience was completely different.
I was greeted by a friendly cashier who asked what I was looking for and pointed me to the plumbing section. Within a minute, a clerk approached—not to ask what I “needed,” but to ask what was wrong. He quickly brought over a more experienced associate, who took one look and suggested simply replacing the spray attachment. He even connected it to the water line I had brought in to make sure it fit.
Problem solved—$15 at Ace instead of the $150 faucet replacement that Lowe’s had recommended after three wasted trips.
That’s real value, not just price. Ace truly lives up to its slogan: “Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks.” This experience is exactly why homeowners should choose Ace over the big box stores.
