The absolute worst mortgage company to exist. As a military family who has moved multiple times and understands the process of buying a home, this company is by far the absolute worst. Since we bought a home, every year, we have to go through h*ll for Carrington to pay our taxes out of our escrow account. They refuse to give us answers as to why it takes mailing our tax bills multiple times, faxing, calling the property tax department multiple times & as of this year, they still have not received our tax bills from us or made any effort to contact the county. We went through this over & over last year. I’ve called our county as well & they say it’s Carringtons fault for not requesting the tax bills electronically. I am at the point of wanting to take legal action against Carrington Mortgage. I have never had to ever use an ounce of my energy to make sure my mortgage company pays my tax bills out of my escrow. Almost $7,000 in property tax money sitting in that escrow account & they’ve yet to receive our tax bills that are DUE IN 2 WEEKS! This makes no sense at all & I want answers!

Tiffany Mesa is an absolute pleasure to work with. Tiffany, from the very beginning was extremely helpful, compassionate and caring. She was in constant and immediate contact with me through every step of the process. Tiffany went above and beyond to represent Carrington Mortgage in a way that made me really appreciate how lucky and blessed I am to be involved with a Mortgage company that really cares about their clients. Tiffany is truly an asset to Carrington Mortgage Services. She took what was an extremely stressful situation for me , and made me feel at ease once I realized how hard she was working to get my situation back on track again. I can't thank Tiffany Mesa enough for all the time and effort she put in working to resolve my issues. To be honest, I was impressed with every single employee of Carrington Mortgage that I had spoken with throughout the process, but Tiffany stood out the most. I have the utmost respect for the way in which Tiffany corresponded with me. She made sure that everything was handled properly in order for me to receive the best possible outcome. I hope that she can be rewarded for her outstanding customer service skills. Thank you so much Tiffany and everyone else at Carrington Mortgage that I had the pleasure of interacting with.

Would never work with them again. They destroyed my credit and they have no department that helps resolve the mistakes they make. I was late on one payment and they reported me to the credit bureau for a $75 shortage. I tried contacting them asking them to resolve the discrepancy with the credit bureau but they did not have department that could help. Awful company. Took me from an 800 credit score to 720. Find a better mortgage company, as they are not worth the stress.

Biggest scam of a company! As a recent homeowner, my last lender sealed the deal in making me comfortable to buy. Fast forward to my loan being acquired by Carrington. I think I’m now going on my 3rd escrow analysis having to pay thousands out of pocket to avoid a $500+ a month increase on my already ridiculous mortgage payment…still whatever, is what it is. But today, today I wake up and see my specifically mortgage allocated bank account was overdrawn! As my banking institution can attest, this has never happened. What had happened was….I made multiple attempts to pay my mortgage via the app & multiple times received error messages. Being I continued to follow the error message & “try again later”, I did so. So now weeks before Christmas, I have been charged multiple times for my mortgage & am told there is nothing Carrington can do to resolve a posted payment. So I have to transfer money from other accounts to cover this error that was not mine. However, I am most upset that not everyone has the resources or ability to do this if faced with the same situation. Luckily, I had started to take screen shots, or my bank said they would otherwise be unable to dispute. So, unless you have the ability to have months worth of mortgage payments on hand to cover for this company’s errors, I would run for your literal life. The fact that there is no safeguard in place to rectify a situation like this is terrifying to me! Needless to say, I will be looking to refinance elsewhere in the new year. I will also be closing the bank account with Regions that failed to also have any safeguard fraud process in place to avoid this situation. Because common sense here, had I not taken screen shots of my attempts, who pays their mortgage on purpose multiple times a few weeks before Christmas?! Mortified at this experience!

Hands down the WORSE. Unfortunately, our loan was sold to this inept company. We have requested, MULTIPLE TIME, by letter, fax, email and telephone call that we do NOT want our home owners insurance to be included in our mortgage. We want to pay that separately on our own. This company has repeatedly ignored our requests and has instead charged us for home owners insurance, THAT WE HAVE BEEN PAYIN ON ITS OWN. We have been trying to get our money back and we keep getting the run around. We then were told that legally this company has to hold onto our money in escrow just in case our insurance rates go up?? HOW? WE ARE PAYING THE BILL NOT CARRINGTON. GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK. No one at this place knows what they are doing. Finger pointing back and forth with no results. I think my 5 year old could do a better job than this company. Run far away from them. I feel for you if your loan was sold to this company.

Our experience with Carrington Mortgage Services, more specifically, with Kyle, was phenomenal from beginning to end. My husband is a veteran, and was treated with respect. The paperwork process was flawless and the entire transaction smooth. Kyle had great communication and was available with any and all questions.Carrington recently purchased our mortgage and it was a seamless process. Thanks for a great refi!

This has to be the WORST company EVER! Ever since my mortgage was transferred to them it’s been nothing but issues. Them billing me for taxes when I don’t pay taxes and even sent them all the documentation TWICE they still added it. Now here we are another year I called to let them know I canceled the insurance they have on file. What do they do?? SEND A CHECK TO THE OLD COMPANY ANYWAY!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!! Now they want to tell me my account is over $1400 short when in fact they actually OWE ME MONEY because my new policy is CHEAPER!!! I’m sure that’s going to be a fight to get!!! I’m removing my escrow account ASAP! The headaches with them are unbelievable! Definitely going to see if I can report them. Their attitude with all their mistakes is awful as well! They’ve made so many mistakes on my account in one year it should be criminal!

Marcus Henderson (Loan Officer out of Nashville, Tennessee ) has outstanding customer service skills. He's very knowledgeable and he's extremely patient (which made the process go smoothly). His communication skills are a 10/10 . He's very responsive to calls, texts,& emails.

LITERALLY one of THE worst mortgage companies in America. Their customer service is inept aMs inadequate. I called 3-4 times on the same day, regarding the same concern and yet somehow, managed to get 3-4 completely different responses to my inquiry. I called there days later, and was told that they don’t make outgoing calls, despite being told by a SUPERVISOR, three days prior that I would receive a call in 48 hours. The representative told me to call back the following week. If the people who work there don’t even know proper company policies, how can they be expected to service people’s mortgages. I PRAY that some other company would purchase my mortgage from Carrington. My previous servicer was SO much better. If interest rates weren’t so high, I would GLADLY refinance. Your people need hands on training in person, not emails sent out regarding company policy that no one bothers to read. If you’re thinking about having them service your mortgage don’t. RUN, not walk to a better company. Literally anyone else! I love Mr. Cooper or Veterans United. I never had the level of incompetence that I’ve had with Carrington! If I could give negative stars, I would! Also, don’t dare respond with that “It is apparent that you are…” response that you gave every other one star review. Absolutely not! The supervisor there said I’d get a call, and that’s what I expect. You can reach out to me, as I know y’all are capable of making outbound calls. I value my time and will not be calling you. You call me!

My experiences with Carrington Mortgage have been great. I purchased my home after my divorce and the loan officer was helpful throughout the process, which can be overwhelming if you've never navigated something like this before. That's why I recently took out a home equity loan with Carrington for home improvements. Loan officer Robert Laurie and loan processor Sarah Latiff were both great to work with. Professional from start to finish.

Awful experience with Carrington. They lose paperwork for veterans and then massively increase the monthly payment trying to make up for a year's worth of property tax you don't have to pay because you're a veteran! Multiple calls and sending in 4 certified copies of all the paperwork they ask for and absolutely nothing changes. Sent in paperwork for their hardship program because they've more than doubled the monthly payment by now and they lose that paperwork too. Calling into their cust service and you get transferred to another department that just leaves the phone off the hook before hanging up on you. Absolutely disgusting how poor this company is operating and stealing from not only veterans but people on limited incomes. If you have a choice for a mortgage company, go with any other option you have!

Terrible! Terrible experience so far. They use predatory tactics and show no concern for their clients. They aren’t BBB accredited. I have insurance on my home but because Carrington wasn’t able to verify it on their end so they charged me $500 more on my mortgage payment. It overdrafted my account. I explained this to Je’sus in customer service and he basically said well we sent you a notice. Poor customer service and shady practices! Stay away or refinance through some other mortgage company!

I couldn’t have chosen a better company to help me through the loan process. Every employee was professional, polite and knowledgeable. I encountered one issue (not due to any mistakes by Carrington) and it was handled with immediate attention. Throughout the loan process Jennifer Perri was very prompt with answers to my questions. My memory isn’t always the best and I can worry about missing details, so I appreciate Jennifer’s patience and professionalism. Our loan process went through just fine, but later I encountered a problem with one financial institution. I was totally lost and read thru all the previous emails looking for a person to reach out to. I don’t think the problem was something Jennifer normally deals with, but I had confidence she wouldn’t turn me away. In the end it was a fantastic decision. Jennifer pointed the way and even checked with me later to make sure it was all resolved. Part of my former career involved quality assurance monitoring for healthcare. There is usually that one person or occurrence, whether good or bad, which determines your impressions regarding an organization. My final and lasting impression of Carrington Mortgage Services is a very favorable one.

I've been with carrington since 2006 , the have Been fair and honest with me . I see all these 1 stars . And I've read them . Most of them seem to be homeowners thinking carringtonmortgage is responsible for there failure to maintain a close eye on there acc every month .I'm currently trying to refi now . Even if I don't get it . No complaints. People do your job watch your money . You want a baby sitter get an acc
