Came in for an emissions test to renew my registration, and I was in and out in no time. The process was incredibly fast and accurate. I also really appreciated the waiting area—it’s comfortable and actually has a lot of interesting educational materials about car mechanics, which made the short wait fly by. The two staff members I worked with were both professional, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. Highly recommend this location for quick and reliable service!

I recently moved to the Plano area and was looking to find my new regular service location. I found Grease Monkey online, saw the solid reviews and coupons available and decided to give it a shot. This turned out to be a very expensive mistake. I arrived, gave them my keys and selected the oil change service I wanted, everyone was friendly and helpful. While waiting, I asked them to take a look at my car (2018 Hyundai Sonata, 85kish miles) serpentine belt as I know that they begin to show wear and may need replaced around this mileage. This is a service they offer, so figured id have them take a look. Shortly after, I looked into the bay and noticed they were having trouble getting my car to start. They then came in and told me it wouldn't start, due to the belts. They immediately told me I would have to get it towed to a new shop, as they apparently did not have the tools available to perform the work on the belts. While I was on the phone deciding on a tow company, they pushed my car out of the bay so that it could be towed. It should be noted that at this time they told me it wasn't the battery, because my lights and accessories all functioned, but they did not test the battery as they were insistent it was the belts. After waiting 45 minutes for the tow truck, it arrived and I began explaining the situation to the driver who is also a mechanic. He was confused by what I had relayed to him, and just on a hunch decided to try and jumpstart my car. My car immediately turned over, and started with no issue. I had experienced no issues with my battery up to this point as well. So due to the fact that no on in the shop though to test the battery (which they offer as a free service on the front door) or try and jump start the car when it couldn't start in their bay, i had to pay over a hundred dollars to get jumped by a tow truck. I then got a new battery at AutoZone, because mine was clearly going out. I thought this would be the end of it, but i was wrong. About 2 days after this fiasco, I noticed a severe oil leak under my car. I then took my car to my previous shop before I moved, as I trusted them and they had done good work for me in the past. They informed of and showed me a large crack in my oil pan, and my cars splash shield was soaked in oil as a result of the leak. I then had to spend hundreds of dollars to get my oil pan and splash shield replaced, as well as a new oil change. I am not implying that grease monkey cracked my oil pan or anything, but the timing is odd and you would think they would notice a large crack or signs of an oil leak and inform me of that while they were changing my oil.
I got in contact with the Area Manager of Grease Monkey, who after I explained the events said that he would reach out to the store and review camera footage to try and get an idea of what happened. He has not since gotten back to me with any information, which is fine because it is not like ill be coming back for service. I just wanted them to be aware that it happened.
Overall, while the employees were kind throughout, It kind of felt like they wanted nothing more than to get my car off their hands and get rid of the problem. A simple battery test and I would have gladly purchased a battery from them. I have never written a negative review in my life, but the events of my visit here required one. I will not be returning, and recommend others think twice before you do.

Cayden, the assistant manager, was the one who assisted me. No kidding, they took less than 20 minutes to do my oil change, and the price was the best part with the deals they have going on. I will definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone, 100%.

If I could, I’d give Mike ten stars—five just don’t feel like enough! I had been dealing with a frustrating car problem that neither Nissan, Walmart, nor Firestone could fix. Then I found Mike, a skilled Brazilian mechanic who took one look and solved the issue immediately. His expertise, efficiency, and the level of care he showed were remarkable. Mike went above and beyond, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. Thank you, Mike, for your fantastic service!

l have been bringing my car to grease monkey for a couple years now for oil changes, inspections, etc. They are nice people, honest, and I never feel taken advantage of. And I love that they always give my car back cleaner than when I arrived! My go to car place!!

Horrible experience!!! NOT HONEST at all
I took my car there because it was leaking … they change hose less than 2 months after the “fix” the car started overheating again but now licking in other place… took to another place to check what happened and they said was missing the rubber that seals the axel… took my car back so they can put it back the rubber but off course they said was a third problem… off course they want more $400 it was clear they were trying take advantage… I still with my car broke having to fill up either water every single stop… can’t pickup or drive my kids to school and the “great” mechanic was in vacation at the beach ? really?!!!
