If I could give 10 or 20 stars, I absolutely would. Elijah took us around the store and helped us pick out a drum kit, sticks, headphones, and speaker! Gave us all the info we asked for and was very polite and sociable. Unique to see in this day and age! Then at checkout, Ben, was able to get us a great, fantastic, amazing, deal. Super polite, friendly, and definitely went the extra mile! I’ve never been to any Guitar Center and had a bad experience, but I will always have loyalty to this Plano location because of these two gentlemen. Thanks Ben and Elijah!!

I brought the speaker to return, but they wanted to charge the speaker 10% or 15%, because they said I opened the box. However, I still had 35 days for return (within 45 days return policy), and no policy states that I have to pay that charging fee. 2 guys talked with me like that, and I asked where the manager was, and he told me that he is a manager, and his name is Ben. This time was second time that I returned. Last year, it was the first time that I returned, they said to charge me is 20%, so I went to the another store for return the speaker with no charging fee

Okay, I am the worst at giving reviews but I had to come up here for this one.Raz is the manager to encounter amongst his amazing co workers. His customer service is second to none. Even at the peak of a busy day, he is absolutely outstanding with his response to customers. His welcoming energy matches the energy of a sugar rush 5 year old in every good way!He will not only give you detailed attention, he will educate you with his bank of knowledge for what you need. His respect for your time due to a bit of delay with helping other customers makes you not want to try anywhere else for the product you need.He truly gives Guitar Center the exact representation any company needs to be remembered for by all customers.I have visited this Plano location multiple times and have received unchanged consistency with his service. From a satisfied customer, you need to go there ?

Customer service could use some improvement! So I called the store to check on a product I saw on their website which showed in stock & in store pick up available but wanted to make sure it was in fact there - the rep who answered the phone says it wasn’t in stock & that they’d need to order it from the warehouse n might take 3-4 days. I went ahead n ordered it online & shortly thereafter got an email saying my order was ready with a link to click when i arrived at the store for curbside pickup! So I get to the store n click the link in the email “I’ve arrived” & get a message stating someone would bring it out to the vehicle. I wait n wait n finally decide to call the store - so I tell the guy I am waiting out for my order to be brought out n he goes they don’t do that anymore & I need to come in which I don’t mind at all but then communicate accordingly - he gets defensive n says they’re trying to fix it. I go in n tell the guy at the counter what happened - probably the same one who answered the phone n he says “well COVID’s over..” and they’re not going to bring it to the car “especially in this heat”!!! and that “it’s not my fault”. He says “they’re working on fixing it” meaning their website - All understandable but certainly not a good customer service experience. So if u order something online n expect to pick up curbside just know that there’s no curbside pickup even though you might get an email saying so!

So I try to buy from GC Plano when I can. Closest to me. So today I have a small issue and need a stand quick. So I go in looking in the drum dept for what I need which the website stated they had. Can not find it I see a sales rep someone will be with you in a few minutes. Ok thanks I go back. Nobody comes , so I go up front standing there for 3/4 minutes another sales rep ask what do I need , I say help in the drum dept. He says I will check this guy out and be there in 5 mins So I go back. so 10mins later no one shows up. As I am leaving the store a sales rep says have a nice day. My response was I was then realized nobody here wants to work 15 mins in the drum room is a joke. And his answer was we are busy. I understand but the two that said help was on the way never showd. As i walked out as they lost a sale and any other business from me.

I went into Guitar Center to buy my daughter a new beginner guitar because it was her birthday, and only a few weeks ago, we were burglarized, and they stole her acoustic guitar. I found an awesome beginner Fender acoustic electric on sale for $179. When going to check out, I walked past the electric bass guitars and noticed some great prices. When I got to the counter, I met Steve, who was working the register. He was really polite and easy to chat with, so I mentioned that it was my daughter's birthday, so he gifted her some picks, then I asked about the bass guitars, so he helped me look at them, pointing out some differences. I found one I really liked for $199. Steve was really great helping me with everything. He also had a used case for me to bring the bass home in. Excellent experience shopping at Guitar Center! Thanks, Steve! We'll be back! I'll add a few photos of the instruments later ;-)

Manager completely unapologetic with lack of accountability for his unprofessionalism. Longtime customer of over 7 years, and the first and worst experience I've had here was when I finally needed services for a guitar (go figure).TL;DR I will not be returning to this store.Managers need to be coached in taking accountability for their oversights and inform customers when delays are present.I arrived one Friday morning to bring my first guitar (I'm a beginner with an old guitar that had a broken 1st string) in order to restring so I can practice effectively. I was given a receipt (they don't charge until after services completed) and was told it'd be ready at the end of the day. I didn't realize they never called me until I was about to go to sleep that night. I called the next morning and was told by the receptionist I needed to wait for correspondence from the repair man. She offered me no ETA as to when I could expect a call. I waited for the remainder of the weekend and decided not to call on Monday because I believed they were going to be off for Junteenth (I later found out they were actually open). Tuesday morning I called and attempted to speak straight to the manager, the lady put me on hold for 5 minutes until she answered the phone again thinking I was a different caller. She then put me on hold again for almost another 5 minutes to which I then hung up and drove straight over there. When I arrived, like the first time I arrived on Friday, I wasn't greeted at all and had to wait for some sort of acknowledgement from the staff as they meandered behind their desk. I then told the same man who serviced me that last Friday (who didn't recognize me at all apparently) of my predicament and how I was trying to speak to a manager. He looked confused and told me he was the manager. I then told him how I waited nearly 10 minutes on hold and he acted surprised. He then fed me a bunch of excuses (which is normally understandable if they had been proactive in informing me of their situation) how they were struggling with their current repairmen and had to throw in a random guy to do the repairs. He tried to placate me with some free strings and guitar picks but it still didn't sit well with me. I hoped for some sort of acknowledgement and apology for their leaving me out of the dark for nearly 4 days. Especially when my guitar enthusiast friend said he usually only had to wait 10 minutes for his restringing. I told him how I was coming here to void the services to which he said was impossible as they already finished. I can't believe how little he seemed to care about how much of my time they wasted and was still expected to pay full price. I am by no means wanting to penalize and subtract the repair man's labor cost, but the store itself should've picked up the brunt of it at the least. Sad to say I won't be returning.

Dear business manager. I think mine is 3rd review in 1 month with same issue in this store. I have no interest in reaching out to you so you can 'take this seriously'. You definitely aren't. Lowered to one star for sending me a canned response. . I visited this location twice to make purchase. The first time there was someone behind counter in the keyboard section dealing with a customer and there was others in line. I did not give a low rating because of that. But I took off early from work to try to beat the crowds. There were plenty of workers behind the main counter and not a single one looked up to even half way make themselves look approachable. The keyboard area was empty of people. About 5 customers came through the area while I was there. I mistook one with a lanyard for an employee. I stood outside the opening to the keyboard center looking directly at the staff behind main counter. Every one of them was nose down and never looked up. And I left.*initial review*I purchased a digital piano here in past but I guess you are expected to beg for help here. Do not expect to be asked if you need assistance. I guess this mentality of service feels different depending on your age. I personally will buy my next Roland elsewhere.

I recently acquired a set of hartke 4×10 bass cabinets for a very reasonable price. Service was great and I am extremely pleased with the staff and brand. In Dallas, Texas. The truly discerning musicians often turn to guitar center for their strings, sticks and other accouterments. They even sell equipment new & used . I've been using this company to outfit my gear & equipment needs. Use them and elevate your musical status and accumin. Tell your friends & invite them along next time you go. It's definitely worth their time

Ordered a used Headrush MX5 from this store. Nice price. Called to make sure it was in stock and to ask if there was a power adapter with it.The rep assured me it was in stock and that there was an adapter with it. He said he would see to it that everything shipped by the end of that day (3/14).I didn't receive a shipping notification until 3/17 (label was created that day), so I didn't receive the unit until 3/21. I was really not in a hurry to get it, so I guess that wasn't such a huge deal. But when it arrived I discovered they did not ship the power adapter with it as assured. I ended up having one shipped overnight from Amazon so I could get it operational.I will say that the store rep was very nice and helpful, but the experience overall doesn't exactly compel me to seek out their business.

If I could give zero stars, I would.I ordered an effects pedal online that I needed for an important gig. I didn't want to mess around trying to find it in store, so I bought it online with curbside delivery selected. I get to the store, and check in using the email that Guitar Center sent me. It was clear - click "here" when you're here, and we'll bring it out to you. I waited five minutes, ten minutes, fifteen minutes. Nothing.I call the store and tell them I've been waiting for 15 minutes, "Yeah, we don't do curbside checkout anymore - you'll need to come in."That would have been nice to know.I went in and was clearly miffed. My time on this particular day was valuable. I had to wait a couple of minutes before anyone looked up. I told them I had been waiting for a curbside delivery. No apologies. No acknowledgement. I finally said, "Were you ever going to let me know?"The clearly apathetic guy behind the counter said, "We're one of the busiest stores in the metroplex."By looking around the store, I had to think that his definition of "busy" and mine differ considerably. Finally, they brought it out to me. I asked a couple of times, "Why do you do allow curbside checkout if you don't actually do it?" Again, no response.Every negative thing you hear about Guitar Center is true. The company is hemorrhaging money, and I see why. I've never walked out of a Guitar Center without thinking, "I know more about this stuff than they do," and that now includes customer service.By the way, when I got home and took the pedal out of the box, it had clearly been used. There was still some adhesive residue on the bottom. It worked fine though, and I'll keep it, but my chances of ever returning to a Guitar Center again decreased exponentially. I'm sure there are good stores still out there, but the Plano location ain't it.

Remember, not just guitars. They have just about everything for everyone to explore different instruments.
