I wanted to donate some light fixtures. It said they take light fixtures on their website. I also called to make sure and they said yes. I got there the next day, and I was told they aren't taking light fixtures any longer. I packed them in my car and drove 25 minutes to donate them. I even have nice light fixtures, not the standard iron outdated ones. I was very disappointed they don't take them and made the trip.

Good place to find items for home repair, building supplies, furniture, and home decor at a good price.I had been pleasantly surprised a couple of times because they had the exact items that I needed. For example a light fixture that was exact match for others in a rental property. They provide 25, 50, and even 75% discount on items that have been sitting in the store for a while.Selection is usually not that great. Inventory changes constantly.

Donated some goods. Found some deals. Great customer service. What's not to like?

Was trying to donate light fixtures today and had a bad experience.1) Website says they accept fixtures2) Lady in the front says they accept3) The guy in the front (Ken?) says they accept after seeing pictures of the fixtures4) The kid in the back says I am the boss. The people in the front are idiots who don’t know better and we don’t accept. There goes my time having driven 20 miles to donate.

Terrible customer service - we walked in and we were berated by the employee to leave because they were “closed”. I have never been yelled at by someone because I entered the store two minutes before closing but I can assure you that I won’t be coming here again.

THIS IS A REVIEW OF THEIR DONATION PICKUP SERVICE, NOT OF THE STORE. On September 16th I scheduled a pickup for items that would not fit in my car. Later that day I received a confirmation e-mail saying my request was accepted for pickup on September 23rd. On the morning of the 23rd I hoped to receive an e-mail with a window of pickup time. Not hearing anything I sent an e-mail to the address on the confirmation. There was no reply so mid-morning I sent a text to Habitat for Humanity asking again when my items would be picked up and, again, no reply. I then called the phone number on the confirmation a couple of times and could never get through to a live person even though the recorded message said the pickup service department was open on Saturdays. In the early afternoon I found the phone number for the Habitat ReStore Plano and called. I got another recorded message without the option for leaving a message. I figured I would have to just stay home until a driver arrived to pick up my items. Two o'clock, three o'clock and then four o'clock and no pickup. At five o'clock I drove to the Plano Habitat for Humanity of Collin County store. Two young men at the front desk told me the pickup is handled in McKinney but they are not open on Saturday or Sunday. I was given a phone number and told to call on Monday. I just wasted an entire day waiting for a driver who never showed up and I never received a return call, e-mail or text. I figured I would get some help on Monday. WRONG!!! It is now after noon on the 25th. Not hearing from Habitat for Humanity of Collin County this morning, I called the phone number given to me by the two young men at the Plano location. I had to choose an option for directing my call. One option told me of a service that could pick up my items for a fee. Another just said my call could not be accepted and to call back. If they don't want me to donate items so they may make some money, they are doing a good job. There are other charities in the Plano area that I know from experience offer good service. UPDATE: Tuesday, September 26th at 9:40 am - At 8:30 this morning Habitat left me a voice message saying they will pickup this morning. There was more message but it was too garbled to understand. I called the donation phone number back and got a recording. I already scheduled a pickup with the Salvation Army but, if Habitat gets here by noon, I will give to them. UPDATE: The Habitat truck arrived at noon on the 26th and picked up my donations. The two guys were very nice and professional. I asked for a tax receipt and was told it would be sent online. Will I donate to Habitat for Humanity again? I doubt it!

The Habitat for Humanity Restore in Plano is full of good buys and quality product. They have new hours for summer and are open from 11:00am - 6:00pm Tuesday through Friday and 9:00am - 6:00pm Saturday. You'll find indoor and outdoor furniture, tools, rugs, dishes, ovens, refrigerators, huge assortment of indoor lighting, new in package mattresses, and statement furniture pieces. The staff are friendly and happy to answer questions. If you have a furniture donation, they take those around the back of the store.

Came by 10mins before the store closed for a quick look. The door was locked and when they came to the door I asked were they open they told me no.

Went to the Plano location, Tia, opened the door three minutes late. Not a terribly huge deal. However, when I entered the store I asked thank you are you open? Got the eye roll, and "come in." I simply said, wow what a welcome. She said I can ask you to leave. I responded, you don't have to, I'll leave. She followed me out like I was a theif. Little did she know I was there looking for a used refrigerator for a local women's shelter. What a shame.

I use to come here all the time until the new management took over. Everything now is grossly overpriced and i literally went yesterday to look at stoves and ended up picking up a brand new one for a lot less at Nebraska Furniture Mart. I've been a volunteer and built homes with Habitat and i feel this location lost the heart of the mission. Good job loosing all you flip and builder business. I recommend saving yourself time and going to another location.

When did the restore stop taking actual building and diy/home improvement materials? They’re just Goodwill v1.5 at this point.EDIT: I appreciate the quick response from the owner. However I wish I didn’t have to find out this information this way; at home, nowhere near McKinney.Having the drop-off employee tell people there was an alternative store nearby or placing a sign with items that another store can take would have helped avoid this.

Do not donate here! I donated $50,000 of supplies/furniture and wouldn’t take simple patio furniture!!!

I like this place. Always a good selection. I think if they would keep the bums out of the back donation area though would be more choices

You have to see their Wayfair room! And white slipcovered couches from Pottery Barn for $350? This place is awesome! I found a 1945 Commander dresser by KLINGK with the brass makers mark and a customer glass top in PERFECT condition for $150. It's worth $1700-2200!
