I’ve been a Presidents Circle member with Hertz for years. This is it. I rented an SUV from this location weeks ago. I had a feeling they would screw in up. I tried calling 4 times to confirm prior to arriving. The phone rings and rings, with no answer. I arrive, no SUV. The guy is clueless. Why didn’t he call? Why didn’t he check the rentals and try to find one prior to my arrival? Lazy. Plain and simple. Hertz does not care about you as a customer. This is true throughout the company ranks. Miserable. Rent at your own risk!!! I’ll be moving my business to Enterprise next week.

This place has gone downhill. I’ve made numerous rentals at this location previously, but now the service is horrible. The last four rentals at this location have been a nightmare. I rented a truck in advance and when I showed up they decided to let me know that they didn’t have a truck available which I needed since I was renting it for work. The last three times I’ve shown up they haven’t had the car ready because it wasn’t clean. So you get to wait an hour for them to do that. I’d highly recommend finding another rental company than here, especially if you need your rental by the time you reserve it. It took an hour and a half for them to clean a car for me.

This Hertz location is an absolute joke. I made a reservation in advance, only to show up and be told they didn’t have a car for me. No phone call, no warning, nothing. Just a smug “we overbook a lot, too bad.” That’s not customer service, that’s a scam. They clearly don’t respect people’s time or money, and they have zero professionalism. Imagine running a business and thinking it’s okay to blatantly lie to customers and then act like it’s normal. Trash company, trash staff, trash service. If you want to waste your day, get disrespected, and walk away empty-handed, this is the place for you. Otherwise, RUN.

Good luck finding this location! They need to put signage that is visible going south on 75 Service road. The only sign is above the doorway, angled more away from southbound traffic. Eventually found it by entering from Enterprise Dr (go figure)! Slowing down on 75 Service road to look for this place can be hazardous. Waited about an hour for the car to be cleaned. The “waiting” area needs work. It has a temporary look and feel. I believe this location is the third one in about 5 years.

The vehicle was great! No issues there. The staff, different story! When asked if I wanted to pay $14.99 for insurance per day and declining, eye roll received in response. When I returned the car I was told I’d be provided with an email confirmation and did not receive it. I called the next day and he gave me attitude and put me on hold, guess what? Never came back. The staff here just seem like busy bees with attitude and just love to sting whenever they can during a conversation. He even rolled his eyes at their ringing phone. Customer service training opportunity needed for this location

Easily one of the poorest examples of customer service I have experienced. I tried to pay for my rental with Hertz vouchers (issued by Corporate) and was basically turned away because they had never seen them before and didn’t know how to apply them to my rental.
I was promised a call back, and the employees assured me the GM was working on a solution.
I have not received a call back, and I’ve called multiple times with no assistance. I’m sure they will reply with “appreciation” of my review, but myself and the fellow customers who’ve left poor reviews would appreciate better service.

Cody, a Customer Service Representative, the male station manager, and the lady general manager (my sincere apologies for not obtaining their names or business cards) at the Hertz Plano Local Edition on US 75/Spring Creek Parkway delivered an outstanding experience during my three-week Ford Explorer rental.
My partner Jeff and I, recently returned to McKinney after a 16-year assignment in Australia, needed a dependable vehicle to transport moving boxes.
This trio of Hertz professionals provided service marked by exceptional efficiency, professionalism, and genuine warmth, far surpassing other rental experiences in the DFW area.
The Explorer required an oil change before the system would approve the rental, resulting in a 60-80 minute wait while the vehicle was serviced.
This provided an opportunity to engage in pleasant conversation with Cody, the station manager, and the general manager while completing the rental paperwork.
Each demonstrated remarkable dedication to their roles: Cody’s enthusiasm as a CSR, the station manager’s steady leadership, and the general manager’s seasoned expertise, honed over nearly two decades of service.
Their cohesive teamwork and evident enjoyment of their work made the time pass effortlessly, reflecting a well-managed operation.
As a retired IBM partner, DEA Special Agent, and USAF Colonel—a rare triple retiree—I have observed operational excellence across diverse industries.
The Plano Local Edition exemplifies this standard, with a team that executes their responsibilities with precision and takes pride in their service.
My heartfelt thanks and commendation go to Cody, the station manager, and the general manager for their exemplary performance.
The Plano Local Edition has earned my loyalty and will be my preferred choice for all future rentals.

Only real complaint are their hours and the fact that there is no compensation for rental hours when they are not open. For example, you are charged a whole day if you want to make a return at 5:01 but the office closes at 5. In a similar vein, if you want to return on a holiday but the store is closed, you still get billed for the extra day.
It should also be noted that despite State Farm notifying you that Hertz has pick up and delivery- and then confirming it several times- neither company will do anything to correct this matter when Hertz will not deliver the car.

Review Title: Disappointed by Hidden Fees and Lack of Transparency
I had a recent rental experience with Hertz that started off smooth—the booking process was convenient, and the vehicle was clean and ready to go. Unfortunately, everything took a frustrating turn due to a lack of transparency around toll charges.
I was never informed of my options regarding tolls. Had I known, I could have easily added the vehicle to my existing toll tag account or opted for the $15 unlimited toll feature. Instead, I later discovered I was being charged a $10 daily service fee plus tolls (approximately $140 extra) —completely avoidable fees that were never disclosed at the time of rental.
When I called to resolve this issue, the Hertz employee I dealt with—Kelly—denied failing to provide this critical information. To make matters worse, I’ve now spent over four hours on the phone across two days trying to sort this out. The third-party company handling the tolls doesn’t even see the additional money Hertz charged me. It’s a complete mess with no clear resolution in sight.
No one likes to be surprised by extra charges a month after a transaction is supposedly complete. This kind of hidden fee tactic feels deceptive, and the poor customer service only added to the frustration.
I expected better from Hertz and will seriously reconsider renting from them in the future.
