I loved it! This was my first time here, and we chose the perfect time to visit. The food was on point, and the service was top notch! Our server was polite, and very tentative. I will definitely be coming back in the future!

Wonderful little hole-in-the-wall place. Delicious comfort food in a pretty clean and quiet environment. The chicken fried steak is a must, whether you get it for breakfast or lunch.

The food is good, no issues. I'm posting one star simply due to the fact the server DID NOT tell me substituting an item will cost extra. I did not want meat with my eggs and asked her what can I substitute with. She replied you can get fruits instead. When I went to pay my bill (they dont bring it to the table you've to go to the counter) it was more than i thought but chalked it away thinking taxes etc. I didn't question and added tip. But once she gave me itemized bill I saw the fruit was charged extra. Now that I've hovered my card no point in asking whys and how's so I'm leaving this review and hope the restaurant sees this. Do better, please let customers know there's an extra charge for substitution which doesn't make sense but whatever. Also lesson learned to ask the restaurant if they'll charge for substituting an item.

I was delighted to see a lot of Russian influence on the menu. I will be back to try some more of those dishes. Thank you so much for putting them on the menu.

I eat here frequently, usually once a week. I have eaten a fair amount of what is on the menu and every thing has been great. They may have the single best mashed potatoes I've ever eaten. Their fried steak, hambuger steak, and meatloaf are my favorites. The fried steak is hand breaded and perfect. Everything is handmade and delicious. The people are super nice and pleasant to deal with and the prices are more than fair. Probably my favorite place to eat in Plano. If you haven't eaten here, you're missing out.

I have been here twice. The food is better than much more expensive restaurants. The service is always friendly. The music they play is fantastic. A great place to eat, unwind and collect your thoughts. I’m impressed. You can eat here for the price of a McDonalds. I know what I would choose.

A great experience at Johns Cafe - the service was excellent very friendly not overdone not under done - perfect! The food was good as well! My friend ordered the eggs benedict and he said the holiday sauce was very good and I ordered the Philly cheesesteak that came with ? and again very good!I went on a Sunday and they closed at 2:30 I don't know the schedule for the rest of their week.I will recommend John's Cafe to friends and family and I will definitely be returning.

Nice cozy restaurant that serves some good omelettes. I enjoyed having salsa as an option for my eggs. The coffee was made fresh.

The quieter, friendlier alternative to mainstream breakfast places that are always packed on Sunday morning. And the food is amazing!

Ok, where do I start? It’s located in a little strip mall. Huge signs of their food on their windows set your expectations high. You walk into this tiny foyer that had a weird smell. I tried not to think about it and opened the door to the dining space. For a Sunday brunch, it wasn’t crowded at all. That should have been my first warning, but didn’t give heed to it. We sat ourselves in a booth and the waiter immediately came with menus. The place looked like it was owned by Hispanics so we decided to go with the Latin inspired breakfast items.I ordered huevos rancheros. The coffee and water came out. The coffee was watered down and tasteless. My coffee at home tastes 100x better. My child’s burger came out and she loved it. My husband had a taste of it too and said it did taste pretty good. Finally our burrito and huevos rancheros came out. The huevos rancheros looked absolutely gross. But I thought, let’s give it a taste…no seasoning at all anddd to make it worse there was some sort of water at the bottom of my plate where they laid the tortillas down. I thought the tortillas were just supposed to be on the side, which they were. Salsa tasted and looked like it came out of store bought jar. Needless to say I ate a couple more bites of it because I was hungry. My husband’s burrito was decent but it too was lacking seasoning. Maybe their waffles and pancakes are better???♀️ Our food was definitely not worth it.

Pleasantly surprised by the inside despite the exterior facade. Uncongested and uncluttered inside without other patrons breathing down one's back with loud voices. Had soft conversations because there be was negligible clatter inside.Good choices for breakfast for those not seeking pretentious "gourmet" priced victuals. Would have preferred a better ratio of soft versus crisp hash browns but it is always a good experience to sample the establishment's preferences.Good options for those with dietary restrictions. Would have preferred the omelettes to be a tad more fluffy than flat. The fillings were not over indulged, permitting us to bite into crisp veggies. A bit surprised that cheese choices were limited to American and Cheddar omitting other popular varieties. Coffee cups were regularly replenished.
