I've waited two years before I wrote this review just to calm down. My wife and I live in Corpus Christi and decided to take our trailer to the county park in Port A (Which, by the way is a great place to stay!). Early one morning my wife and I decided to take our dog for a walk on the beach before it got crowded. Our dog is very good off leash and when there were people around we put her on the leash. We should have known something was up when this lady stopped in her car and told us to be careful because of coyotes. We thanked her and went on with our walk, but noticed she was following us in her car. Then by the Jetties, While she was on leash. We were stopped by Animal Control and were told they had got numerous calls about a dog off leash chasing birds. We said that was probably us and he went off, telling us it was a huge fine if the dog caught a bird and continued to yell at us from his vehicle(which he never left) every time we apologized he just yelled more. We left and the lady continued to follow us from a distance. Since then we try and stay away from this city.

They have adorable animals and I really want to adopt one but no one is ever here and when I did come during their hours the lady said sorry I’m not the one who does adoptions or talks about the animals with people but we have a volunteer who comes in at four so I showed up at 4 which is after hours so I was already wary waited for thirty minutes and no one showed up I’m super confused do they want the animals to be adopted?

This place need some love. There was only one employee working but he was assisting a phone call. He let us interact with the cats and the kittens. If anyone can spread the word I am sure they can use as much donations as possible. Thank you for the service to provide shelter for pets that may end up losing their lives with tourists who may not know the pets are running around. Keep up the good work!
