The Avid Hotel in Portland offers a clean, modern, and affordable stay with friendly and helpful staff. Many guests found it to be a great value, praising the competitive pricing. The rooms are described as spotlessly clean and recently renovated, featuring comfortable pillow-top mattresses, large TVs, automatic window shades, and quality Dove toiletries. The functional gym, reliable Wi-Fi and AC, and large parking lot are noted positives. A highlight for many is the complimentary breakfast, which includes eggs, roasted potatoes, oatmeal, pork patties, a wide variety of breads and pastries, muffins, fruits, muesli, yogurts, and juice. The Costa Coffee machines were a pleasant surprise, though were occasionally out of order. The location is considered solid, with close proximity to good restaurants, a steakhouse, a poke bowl restaurant, a movie theater, and easy highway access. However, some guests reported significant cleaning issues, encountering dirty bathrooms and even a cockroach in one room. A malfunctioning door in one room and an out-of-order ice machine on the main floor were also mentioned. While the staff received consistent praise for being accommodating and helpful in resolving problems, these maintenance and cleanliness concerns were a drawback for some visitors.

Not a fancy place but a good experience. They haven't have a modern decor and my room had some maintenance issues as shown in the picture. Bed was comfortable and employees were nice.
