Best hotel in Portland no question. 1. True pillow-top mattresses. 2. Great shower head 3. Quality toilet paper. 4. Functional and versatile gym equipment. 5. Solid location within close proximity to good restaurants and highway access North or South bound. 6. Competitive pricing/affordability. 7. Friendly staff. 8. Automatic window shades!

I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
The price was very reasonable.
The room we stayed in was quite small, but we didn’t need much space. The bed was a wide, comfortable king size, and everything was spotlessly clean — it felt like the hotel had been recently renovated.
The TV was large, and there were plenty of toiletry bottles: body wash, shampoo, hand soap, conditioner, body lotion… all from Dove, a brand I like and that’s not among the cheapest.
I also really liked the breakfast — there were eggs, roasted potatoes in small chunks, oatmeal, pork patties, a wide variety of breads and pastries, three types of muffins, fruits, muesli, yogurts, coffee, and juice. The coffee machines looked new and served Costa Coffee, which is not something you usually see in hotels at this price point. I was pleasantly surprised.
My husband was a little disappointed that there weren’t any waffles at breakfast, but he was still happy because there were plenty of other good options.
The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and so did the AC. The hallways and elevators were clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The parking lot is large, and we had no issues finding a spot.
I also liked the location — close to a movie theater and a few great places to eat, like a steakhouse and a poke bowl restaurant.
A special thank-you to Kristian for providing tools and helping us out when our car wouldn’t start in the morning — we really appreciated it🙏🏻

So the cashier BLUE was completely rude. Me and a co worker were waiting to pay for snacks and someone walked in after us and she completely let the person go before us and then she asked if I needed a receipt and I said no but then corrected myself and said yes( completely by mistake on my part) and she said she couldn't pull the receipt back up which seems strange and I've never seen this person before in my life and it was unnecessary and super rude. Please ensure that this lady has etiquette on how to treat customers.

I am very disappointed to say that this hotel was not properly cleaned. The first room they put us in the door wasn’t working (they knew it had issues and still placed us in that room). The second room the bathroom was dirty. The third room they tried to put us in also had a dirty bathroom. The last room had a large cockroach in it. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating which i am very thankful for. i typically love Avid hotels but i would not recommend this one to anyone.

The manager Anna is very unprofessional, she treats her employees very bad. I don’t understand how she’s still involved with the hotel. Will be letting all my friends know not to stay with her

I always enjoy Avid in Portland, Tx. for the simple fact Vicki Sanchez is an all around pleasure when she is there. She is sweet, helpful, problem solver and a great conversationalist. The ladies were SO great and helpful! Wish I could remember the one ladies name, but she was so nice, attentive and great when we checked in and out. She was the one w/black hair and glasses. Sorry! I hate describing people.This was my first time staying at an Avid. I travel a Lot and frequent IHG hotels. This one was so cute. Love the ability to have freshly ground coffee, too any time.It was a great stay!

We came to town for a softball tournament. It was near the team's hotel so we just grabbed a room, since everything was booking up fast. I didn't take a star away for early check in, but that wasn't an option during our stay. The one ice machine on the main floor is out of order, which was a bummer. And also the fancy coffee machine is out of order..
