I used to love shopping here, but ever since they removed the dressing rooms and the prices increased its been horrible. To top it off, I am allergic to cats. Specially when cats mark stuff. Recently, every clothing I've been touching has been making my arms break out into hives. It's almost as if maybe there's a cat somewhere in the store? I overheard one of the workers mention something about a cat and I was pretty upset

????Don't even really deserve one star. They do not have fitting rooms available for customers to try on clothing BUT.... ALL SALES ARE FINAL????? That doesn't seem right or fair to any customer making a clothing purchase. Everyone is shaped differently and trying on clothes before you buy is a must or at least have the opportunity to return, not necessarily for a refund for the items, maybe store credit if the items don't fit properly. ????

This review is personal and not sanctioned by Goodwill (GW) Industries. I speak for myself and no one else who works at Portland GW.FIRST TRUTH- The store is not renovating for anything BUT having to comply with an OSHA write up.Any long time shopper can tell you when Goodwill opened and located where Lack"s Furniture formerly resided some years back. The carpet was removed and the floor was never sealed. First thing that was told to me by a friendly contractor customer explained the need to have sealed the floor and the forever erosion of dust since that date. Concrete dust. Silica.I want to be thankful before I get to the low and highs of where I work or soon (perhaps) to be formerly working. I witnessed those who work here are proud of the community and many have remained loyal throughout the conditions. Their experience is beyond the common retail skills. A 4'x4'x4' box is not an easy task to sort and label. Most merchandisers just open labeled boxes of one size. GW boxes are like marbles of different size and color and it takes skills to sort. It is challenging and interesting. The training and skills obtained by GW employees is better than common retail. Their multitasking and speed are exemplary. The people who work at GW because they like GW and they are have become a great team of wonderfully loving people...even in what I have witnessed as a noob as high expectation production quotas. The production crew behind the scenes are champions!GW shoppers all love GW. Any experienced Thrift enthusiast knows the brag swag involved in what you can find at GW. I just missed a hundred dollar plus Cricut that went for thirty bucks the first time I shopped at Portland GW. We have loyal customers. Battling the eroding floor and monster dust bunnies. Wise to wear masks which the CoVid trained us all to do...but whooda thought GW dust was part of the mask culture need? The people who donate to GW make GW happen. Portland GW store has so many beautiful items because of the kind and generous donations. It is what brings people to the store. And yes even with the dust bowl conditions. The in house staff was really trying. The eroding floor doomed over us. It took so much production time to just try to clean. Only to come back to a store that settled more dust overnight.GW employees lose their rights to be a customer. A fifty percent off employee discount, but with purchasing restrictions. They can not shop any day they work. Only can shop at their location on their day off. Any day they can go to neighboring GW.Each week has a production color. This entails the labelling of current donations. This color can not be purchased by any employee. This includes the purchase of this label color in any neighboring GW. Any employee informing family or friends of products that come in and ask like their mom to come buy it can get fired. No phones are allowed while working. Phones must be left in their locker. If caught with a phone, you are sent home and written up. The cameras are on each employee. Policy is strict and black and white. The Security chief is like the Dark Knight of Gotham and he will find you. WE DON'T GET THE GOOD STUFF BEFORE YOU DO. We must wait to see and buy the leftover week old merch.Portland has renovated to include a Learning Center. The I.T. training lists legitimate current to the times course options. This is a tremendous feat of community supported education. The GP area seriously rocks! You are greatly appreciated. Let's move forward to better days and reviews.

As of this writing, this Goodwill is closed on the retail side, but open on the donation side. This place is under renovation, but there is no date given for their opening.

Hopefully with the new renovation, floors will be cleaner and someone will begin mopping them.

Recently store is on the ball. The new young man working drop off station is very nice, polite & helpful. They're finally getting more stuff. The only draw back is there dusty floor, my nose starts itching as soon as I start walking around.

Over the years, I have frequented several Goodwill stores, searching for budget friendly items, whether it be clothing, shoes, general household items and have never been disappointed.... until I recently visited this particular store. O, how DISAPPOINTING! The floors were filthy, an odor lingered within the store. And, the prices, for supposed gently used items, we're RIDICULOUS in cost! Perhaps, Management needs to be reminded that these items ARE DONATED, and NOT NEW ITEMS, so why gouge the public!?!?! The Management Team should be ashamed of how this particular location is being ran. But, according to the Clerks, Management is aware of the issues and yet does NOTHING to improve the shopping experience for the community. Shameful and disgusting! I will not be visiting this location ever again! It's time for the Management Team be held accountable for a sloppy store, nasty environment, and overpricing!

Don't waste your time going here. The place was dirty. Racks were empty. Most the clothes I even though to buy had stains on them. This is the worse Goodwill I have ever been too. The cashier (Robert R) was rude to me and the people behind me. If you hate your job quit. The Goodwill in Rockport is much better with friendly people.
