Went to the Portland SSFCU location today and had a fabulous experience. I closed my safe deposit box, got change for my business and had some other matters to ask about. I worked with Kay and she is someone who is nice, goes above and beyond and makes the experience very fun and enjoyable. I have worked with her before and always treats me with respect and makes me feel like she cares about my needs.
This credit union was the ONLY one who would give my company a loan in order to open up and start. I will always be grateful and loyal to this company. Thanks so much! Kay is the absolute best!!

I switched to SSFCU after 15 years of having Frost! The Power Protected Checking Account is such a convenient thing to have, as I have never seen offers or such assistance from a local financial institution like SSFCU. The whole staff is SUPER friendly, and Victoria answered my questions with thorough explanations, and knowledge of what SSFCU offers. I recommend everybody evaluate which banks or institutions they’re currently utilizing and to make a switch also.

I want to share my experience with Ashley Smith from the Portland Branch. Ashley was an incredible help when I was looking for a title from 2007. She went above and beyond and was so very pleasant through the whole process. I could see and hear her smile even over the phone. She has great follow through too! Ashley stayed on top of it and kept me updated as she went along. I have currently been at other branches trying to get some things done and sadly I did not encounter this kind of service at any of them. Not even close! Thank you again it was very much appreciated!!!

I had two cd's maturing and called their 800 number. After 25 minutes wait I was answered by a mumbled voice and asked for the name to be spelled (Mari). I tried to explain what I was after, she kept talking over my voice. She was anything but businesslike. She said they do not match other rates and do not combine two cd's to get a better rate. I asked her if iI could speak to a supervisor & she said she was a supervisor. Prior to this I had good experiences at Security, though in the future I may look elseware for my finantial needs.

Went in on a late Saturday Morning to open a joint checking power account. Brandyn was fast, knowledgeable and had us in and out before I knew it. 10/10 would absolutely recommend.

I wanted to share my experience at Security Services Federal Credit Union, Portland Branch. We had a pleasure being serviced by Brandyn Vallejo over the past week with a variety of loan and account questions. The Portland branch isn’t even the closest to my place of residence or the most convenient one to visit, but it’s definitely worth the drive for the customer service that he gives to customers. We really appreciated the way Brandyn made us feel truly valued and no question or concern was insignificant. We weren’t treated as if we were just a statistic, a number or that he was getting some kind of commission or kick back to assist us. He definitely went above and beyond being patient and knowledgeable in his role as a customer service representative in those days even though I’m sure that’s not his title. This is exactly what keeps us coming back and especially dealing with this Portland branch. We appreciate his time and effort.
Also, unsolicited, we talk to Mikayla Picha who assisted us and explained to us our options for vehicle insurance and our account benefits as a whole. Once again, she displayed the kind of customer service that we’ve grown accustomed to with the Portland branch. She made me and my wife feel like we weren’t just another number over this past year. She got to know us and remembered us which truly makes it feel like a hometown bank. We appreciate it, and that’s what makes us keep wanting to bring our business back to Security Services Federal Credit Union, Portland branch Thanks again for all you do and keep up the good work.

So it was all right. I bank with them and I came in for some stuff but unfortunately the seats inside the offices were not accessibility friendly. They had very small seats made out of wood in the rails were very harsh. But the service was great they had free snacks which I enjoyed. But as a larger person not having seats that are accommodating makes it hard to do your banking in private.
**UPDATE 11/15/2025**
The branch manager reached out to me and apologize for what happened. It was very nice and I very much appreciated that they told me they're going to take steps next time to make the banking system more accommodating for myself and for people like me. This is what I value from a bank. So I'm updating my rating from 2 to 4 stars. Great customer service
