We have taken pets we found wandering the streets to them for sake keeping and to find their way home. RO animal control is kind and compassionate. Always striving to do what's best for the animal.

This was a terrible place for animals . I felt sorry for them all . The smell of urine and excrement was horrific. Many were surrounded and unable to sit in a clean spot .

A starving animal shows up and you go through the effort of doing their job for them and then drive 6 minutes-(not 6 miles-minutes, including 2 traffic lights) only for the woman to spout jurisdictional nonsense. I thought animal welfare was your jurisdiction? As a 20 year public servant I understand that this is the theme song of lazy municipal employees who can't be bothered. Imagine if I had done this when I was still a cop.... Don't worry, the animal is being tended to by people who actually care. Do better or consider a new career.

As far as animal shelters go, Red Oak is very good. The Animal Control officer, Amy, does a good job in caring for the dogs and making sure their needs are met the best she can. She knows the personalities of the animals in her care, which is a great asset to have when potential adopters come in.

Terrible reception. I went to the shelter because I found two puppies on 77 between red oak and Waxahachie, . when she asked me where do I found them , I told her I was coming from Waxahachie and she told me you have to take them to Waxahachie and I told her the shelter was temporary closed, she was like I can’t take them you have to take them until you Waxahachie shelter open, I told her I can’t take them, I told her so you want me to dropped them off where I found them, Her answer was no because I will report you, I was like I just save two puppies and your job is to take them not me I should report her for not doing her job. she was everything but helpful.

I had an appointment, no one was there. Ended up waiting for about 15 to 20 minutes before anyone showed up. The upside is it only took a few days for my pups to be rehomed. For this I am truly grateful.

Great people working here. She was able to help us by appointment only, but same day appointments available. We ended up adopting a dog, but to pay for him we had to leave and pay at the police station. It was fine, as it's down the street.
