I visited Wise Style Salon in Rhome, TX on a Saturday for a full balayage appointment with Chesney. While she was friendly at first, I’m really disappointed in how everything was handled afterward, especially the lack of communication.
I came prepared, showing photos of both my natural hair and a previous balayage, and clearly explained I wanted to maintain my natural root with lighter ends. Chesney even stepped aside to consult with another stylist about the color choice, which I appreciated at the time.
After 2–3 hours in the chair, I was surprised to see I only received highlights and a toner, not the balayage I booked or asked for. The result was pretty but not what I wanted, and I mentioned wanting more blonde, but that wasn’t acknowledged or addressed. It felt like my concerns were brushed off. Although I should have expressed my concern more but I was nervous, tired and ready to go home to my babies. I admit that is my fault and not hers.
Despite my disappointment, I paid the full $175 for the balayage. After doing more research over the next couple of days, I realized I wasn’t comfortable with how much I spent for a service I didn’t fully receive. I messaged Chesney directly and got no response. I then called the salon and spoke with another stylist who told me to book again so it could be corrected — but I still haven’t heard anything from Chesney personally.
As a client, I believe communication is key, especially when something doesn’t go as planned. Right now, I’m left feeling uneasy and unheard. I can’t recommend Wise Style Salon based on this experience, though I truly hope my upcoming follow-up appointment goes well and helps change my view. I’d love to be able to update this review with a more positive experience.
Update: I decided to cut my losses, cancel my appointment and find a new salon. I hope this is helpful to anyone looking for a reliable salon.

I like this place was close to where I worked but it took Chesney a while 9 mins to cut my hair and it look so choppy at the back. I asked her why my hair was uneven and she said it was because it was dry. I think she could have spent a little time fixing addressing my concerns but instead she dismissed it. Anytime a women get a haircut you want them to take there time. She definitely rushed me in and out. I would not recommend Chesney but maybe trying another stylist there.

The young lady at the front desk is very unprofessional, not nice at all.
First time being there she ignored me and second time she barely wanted to speak with me saying that she had a customer and didn’t want to make her wait 🙄 .
I thought all customers were important!!
Thankfully I found a good salon where they make me feel good, comfortable and important.

This salon is so cute, I love the style. As soon as you walk in someone either greets you or yells from their room "hello, we'll be right with you." My stylist is Megan & she's very nice, not pushy, tells me what my hair needs & she does a great job. Prices for services are reasonable as well!
