My wife and I have been members here for several years, having transferred from the Plano location when that permanently closed a while back. The Richardson location has been good for us, but now it's also closing down permanently on August 20, 2023, with memberships being transferred to Texas Family Fitness (please see the attached photo.) Many thanks to the Gold's Gym staff, sorry to see the place close.

This is a poor excuse for a gym to be called Gold’s Gym. As someone who has been in the industry for over 17 years as a personal trainer and as someone who has trained for Gold’s Gym in the past. This is the by far the worst gym to ever be called Gold’s Gym. Many things are wrong with this place. Staff, might as well have AI working here cuz the staff never really engages with anyone they just sit there and watches you check in. Locker rooms are absolutely disgusting! I’ve never see locker rooms/bathrooms at any gym be as dirty as here. Even when the guy who “cleans” he gets all his stuff out and then leaves it there and goes off and does something else. You’re lucky if you find a piece of cardio equipment that actually works properly. Most of the weight lifting machines don’t work correctly (when issues are brought up to staff is apathetic, the space is not utilized efficiently at all, lots of wasted space. Add to the fact that they are closing (which is almost unheard of for a gym to close) they either get bought or new management takes over and does a complete overhaul, which needed to be done a long time ago. As far as management, never seen them walk the gym floor, engage with members, nothing just sits in the office every time I’ve been there, so no wonder this place is closing. Direction comes from management and when management is lazy this is the outcome. From how this place is run, they worked hard for this place to close. Just hope a new gym takes over and is a complete 180 of this place, utilizes the space more efficiently, has clean locker rooms, showers that work, maintains all pieces of equipment (cardio and weight lifting machines) and if something is not working, it’s taken care of in a reasonable time, staff is friendly and engaging and management is not lazy and hides in their office all day.

Just received notice that this gym is closing on August 20th and all members are being transferred to Texas Family Fitness. This honestly does NOT surprise me AT ALL. We have had nothing but trouble since we signed up for this gym many years ago. Right after all of the COVID mess. Our sales guy, who is no longer there, lied to us about many different things except for the fact that the owners were awful. Every amenity that was offered such as the swimming pool and the body fat scanner was removed. The showers never had hot water and the shower head sprayed every direction but where one would stand. Never got fixed. Basically, everything that made us want to join was no longer going to exists. Not only a about a month ago we were contacted to let us know each members rate would go up $5. For what? Rusty machines and less amenities. That's joke. I've been trying to get my fiancé to cancel this membership for a while and I guess they just did it for me. Texas Family Fitness, the new location they are moving everyone to, has awful reviews as well.

I've been a member of Golds Gym for quite sometime and elected to make this my home gym because it's closer. However, this gym stays nasty and yes I said nasty! I was there on today and someone's personal towel was still on an ab machine that was there on Monday! The ladies restroom is always UNKEPT, no soap in the dispensers, trash cans are always full! I bring my own disinfectant wipes because who knows what's in those spray bottles! As a paying customer this is unacceptable considering we just came out of pandemic! If your considering Gold's Gym, do not make this one your home gym. Unsanitary and not clean!

Shouldn't be called golds gym. Should be called below average gym. They don't have traditional hack squats. This is no different than any other commercial gym I've been to. It puts the name golds gym to shame.

The pictures are catfish, lights so dim and terrible, women’s restroom is dirty and can’t be clean, the area to stretch you can’t go in cause it’s use for classes like where can you stretch at? This gym needs to be closed down

Really like working out here only problem I have is the man that cleans the bathroom. Please hire a women to do the women's bathroom so that if we have to get dressed and shower before work we won't be in his way . He asked me if I needed to shower because he just had to mop the whole thing and that he didn't mind if I didn't mind ? Um hello? Yes I mind ? Luckily my friend lived down the street and he told me I can get my stuff l. So I grabbed my stuff and left messing up my whole routine but yeah great gym overall.

I am visiting from out of town, and decided to give this gym a try because the outside looked so new, and I was amazingly surprised. The facilities are clean, well kept, plenty of room, and the equipment still looks new. It's definitely mid to high tier facility ~

I fell in love with Gold's Gym when I first visited their Fullerton location. Before Gold's the gyms I've been to have always been pretty standard fare: most equipment work, most items are worn out, bleach from the pool creeps from the locker rooms, and odd wall decorations. Gold's Gym put up a higher standard. All equipment is well maintained, the machines are modern, and the spacing is great. That's what I thought all Gold's Gyms were like. Visiting this Hollywood location made me realize I was incorrect.
