Our experience this year was not so good. They want us to sign a consent to use our tax return information for a multitude of their own purposes. We declined, and the preparer went as far as to tell us that it was required by the IRS. I had to read the document to her 3 times to get her to understand that the requirement was that they must have our consent, not that the customer must sign it. The second thing that concerned us was the arbitration agreement has an opt-out, but they will not let you opt-out in the office. Instead, you have to go online to do that. Once online, there is a form to fill out. I guess by making it difficult, most will not do it. Our experience today weakened our faith in the practices of H&R Block.

Walked in to get some assistance on my taxes. I tried to e-file and was getting an error that prevented me from submitting my taxes. I tried to make an appointment, but the soonest they had online was 5 pm, and it was 2/3 when I was trying to book. I walked in and was directed to Brenda R. She was nice and friendly. I explained to her what was going on, I brought my laptop in and walked her through what I had done. She was able to help me fix what was wrong, and she didn't charge me anything. She was so patient and helpful, and she answered a couple other questions that I had. I would definitely recommend her if you need any tax assistance.
