Our youngest son has attended North Star for a little over 2 years and we have been very happy with our experience. The teachers and staff are phenomenal and genuinely care about their students. The facilities are very nice with a major bonus being the outdoor learning center. Highlights for us have been that you rarely hear crying ( i think it physically hurts Ms Debbie to hear a child cry), Ms Jenny’s science and STEAM class, Ms Rose’s art class and this last year Ms Leonard truly preparing him to move on to Kindergarten. They also offer a lot of opportunities for parent/family involvement. I think my older 2 think they belong there just as much as their brother. Love this place and am grateful for their partnership raising my last baby! We will miss them next year!!

We have been at Northstar for 4 years, 2 boys each from age 3 until right before kindergarten. We are so thankful we found them. Staff is wonderful!! The boys have loved it there and made great friends that we have kept in touch with. They have also been kindergarten ready by the time they started. So many fun activities for the kids. Highly recommend this preschool! Can’t say enough good things about it.

I cannot say enough good things about North Star Learning Center. Both of my children have been at this school for several years, and our family has been consistently blessed by the kind, caring, attentive, invested staff at this school. Every staff member knows each of my kids by name, and they still ask about my son who graduated from their school years earlier. Every day I hear all about the new things they learn in science class, music class, library, or art class. Their curriculum is excellent, and I find that my kids have been well-prepared for kindergarten upon graduation. We would never go anywhere else for preschool!

I have two experiences of North Star Learning Center, one as a parent and one as a teacher.
My Pre-K aged daughter has attended NSLC since she was an infant. I'm having a baby soon, and he will be attending NSLC as well. The school has received a perfect score from state licensing for the past several years. My experience with all my daughter's teachers has been excellent. The school has an app that can keep you informed and in contact with them. I love getting photos of what my kid is doing at school!
The school is play-based and has smaller class sizes. Students attend at least one enrichment class (music, library, science, P.E. or art) daily. Preschool C and D attend chapel class once a week.
There is a large gym for indoor gross motor play, a Rumpus room (for Preschool A classes) for indoor gross motor play, a S.T.E.A.M room, a Library, an Art room, a music room, a large Outdoor Classroom, and 2 terf playgrounds with sunshades (one for little ones and one for bigger kids).
I have also taught at NSLC for almost 10 years (the majority of teachers have taught here for 5+ years). The administration is constantly striving to make the school as up to date, developmentally appropriate, safe, and a positive place for the students, parents, and teachers as possible.
I truly love NSLC. I'm thankful that my kids are able to attend and that I get to help create a safe, happy place for other parents and students.

We have been at NSLC for the past three years and can't say enough good things. The staff is amazing and always extremely responsive. The school has an incredible variety of activities - library, art, stem, gym, outdoor classroom, chapel, playground. The facility is amazing - extremely clean and also very safe. Our kids have been truly loved and I have never had to worry about them during a school day. We are very grateful to have found North Star!

North Star is an incredible Christian preschool! We are very blessed and grateful to have both our children attend preschool there! The teachers are trustworthy, caring and truly gifted with young children. Mrs Webb and the administrative team are excellent and experienced leaders.

North Star Learning Center is THE BEST DAYCARE. I cannot express how grateful we are for every person here! Anytime I walk by any teacher they greet myself and my kiddos by name. They truly are part of our family. They are professional in every way. We knew after one visit that this place would be a part of raising our children! All of the teachers are wonderful but I have to give a special shoutout to Ms. Ayeisha! My daughter can have a tough time adjusting to new situations and when she switched into her class she was SO patient and loving! Everyone at NSLC I consider family and I cannot recommend a better place to send your babies!

We love North Star! Our son is cared for, loved, and safe while at North Star. All of the teachers and front admin are wonderful! We are so happy to have found a great day care that our boy loves as much as us.

This is the most wonderful preschool!!! All the staff and teachers are incredibly kind and caring. All 3 of my children have/are going here. They have art, STEAM, library, and music weekly. Additionally they have a super cool outdoor classroom where the kids can explore, play, get dirty and sometimes have fun science lessons with Mrs. Jennie. I cannot say adequately express in words how much I love North Star. Cannot recommend it enough!!!!

I will try to give a fair, objective review of my experience with North Star Learning Center, in the spirit of helping other parents who are looking for suitable childcare for their children. In a nutshell, I think this school is quite adequate for an infant up to toddler age, but would recommend another school if you want your child to be well prepared for kindergarten and don't wish to move them after age 2-3. I also don't believe North Star consistently looks out for the best interests of the children, and instead often puts its own interests first at the children's and parents' expense. That is the primary reason I chose to leave. There are some definite pros and cons to this center:Pros:1. The building is updated, large, bright and airy, with colorful decorations in the halls and classrooms as well as the kids' artwork regularly on display, which creates a cheerful atmosphere. The classrooms are also large and spacious.2. The center is conveniently located if you live in east Richardson, Murphy or even Wylie. It is close to George Bush Turnpike and Renner Road.3. The teachers for the infant classroom up through age 2 were mostly kind, friendly and seemed to enjoy spending time with the kids.4. The teacher turnover seems low, (though I of course don't have official numbers). I believe this indicates that the teachers are happy working there, which is important.5. The school has a separate library with quite a selection of books, and the library teacher is a favorite of many of the kids- very friendly with a warm personality. 6. Teacher-student ratios are low, at least up to age 2. Ratio in my child's class was 2 teachers to 8-9 students.7. The school works to plan fun activities during the year, such as water days on Fridays during the summer and Trunk or Treat at Halloween. However, parents have to provide all supplies for the events- none of this is supplied by the school.Cons:1. This school is on the higher end price-wise compared to just about every other daycare or preschool in the area, with little additional offerings to substantiate the higher price.2. The school closes for a full 3 weeks out of the year (in addition to regular holidays and additional in-service days), and gives no reduction on tuition. They close for a full week in August for "teacher in-service" (despite the fact that the teachers are not accredited or certified in any way and neither is the school), as well as a full 2 weeks in December. This presents a substantial challenge for working parents.3. While the school will not provide breakfast, lunch or even one snack, they will purchase pizza or chick-fil-a 2 days a week for $10 provided by the parents. I personally don't think this is in the children's best interest. Most other schools offer at least one healthy snack if not lunch as well.4. There is no defined curriculum beyond scheduled activities throughout the day, such as library, art, etc. The teachers do not create any sort of lesson plan, nor do they offer conferences to parents to discuss the child's progress unless requested by the parent. There is minimal individual attention given to each student. 5. The children in my child's class (ages 1-2) do not nap until 1pm or later most days, and 8In the age 2+ class they do not nap until 2pm or later. This is much later than I feel is appropriate for this age and again I believe relates to serving the interests of the school and teachers over those of the children.6. Several requests I made for things related to my child's care were initially agreed to and then were consistently not followed or ignored. I had to send multiple reminders and was told yes, they would comply, and again they weren't followed and the director offered no reasoning other than to say "ok I'll remind the teachers" and then they continued to ignore it. Very frustrating.7. Teachers, staff and parents have not worn masks since March 2021 despite the ongoing risk of COVID-19.My child has also gotten sick quite often (4-5 times si

Love this place! The facilities are beautiful and the teachers are great. My grandson can't wait to go to school everyday. He came out of school yesterday with tears in his eyes. When I asked what was wrong he said "I wasn't ready to leave yet". What?? So thankful he loves it. Thank you NSLC.

I had a very bad and disheartening experience at this school. The teachers are not competent enough to handle challenging students. They made me take an evaluation appointment for my over-active 4 year old son at one the early intervention centers. Even though I requested many times to let him stay for a week until the evaluation meeting but they made my son withdraw from the school with 2 days notice period. My child was so heartbroken and kept asking me everyday why I wasn't taking him to his school? On meeting the Director/Associate Director/Teacher again after a couple of days for picking up a form, none of them even once inquired about my son who was in that school for a semester. No school can become 5 star rating school by eliminating challenging students.
