Introducing Miss “Kit” (though we’ve changed her name to “Cookie” because my daughter McKenzie, said she literally looks like a sugar cookie or a snickerdoodle & she’s equally as sweet)??She’s a 2yr old Chihuahua rescue, that we adopted from Take Me Home Pet Rescue ? ??Roscoe, our 11yr old Chiweenie adores her too! We’re over the moon about this sweet little girl & so happy that she’s found her furever home with us? ? ???? Gotcha Day: 05/11/24?✨Cannot thank TMHPR enough for helping facilitate our newest edition into our family. From start to finish, the process was super smooth & very thorough likewise as they want to ensure that your potential furbaby is going to be a good match for you & your household also. Carrie was amazing & everyone that works there too! We cannot thank you guys enough! So, if you’re looking to add a furry friend, then please consider adopting/rescuing from this wonderful organization!

We got our sweet kitty from this rescue a few months ago and the people who helped us were almost equally as sweet!! We were looking at various shelters and other rescues in the area and TMHPR is miles above the rest. So easy to communicate and helpful in helping us as first time cat parents. Cant recommend enough if you’re looking to adopt ❤️

It's an amazing place both to volunteer and adopt.
Every Saturday a lot of the animals in the online registry are brought and you get to meet them and their foster. All animals are brought home and trained by the fosters, this does (in most cases) include socializing cats and dogs.
Volunteering is great too, there's a variety of tasks that you can take on from greeting visitors, just some paperwork with puppy breaks, or working with the animals themselves.

Is this place a con, or a clown show? They are open one half day a week. Lots of attention to locating homes? As long as yo show up on their schedule. Each animal has to have a unique application. So after you show up on saturday, and discover that it is a week before you can come back, and then discover that there already 4 applications for that one animal, and he is gone, you have to start all over with another application for another animal. They contact your vet and want history of vet activity. They contact your employer, they want to know how you spend your day. How many actual adopters make it through the labyrinth of all this nonsense, to actual adopt an animal? Save yourself time and nonsense, go to Operation Kindness in Carollton. They are a no kill rescue and work with many local city shelters, taking in animals and actually placing them, And amazingly, they are open 7 days a week!! This place is run by idealistic children. how long do animals wait in cages until they find the perfect (nonexistent) home? As you can well imagine, I will not participate in this nonsense. AND I do take care of my animals

All of the staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a pet, they will let you play with as many, and as long as you want.

This is a great place for folks to not only do good by trying out fostering a pet (dog or cat) before adopting it. Highly recommend giving them a shot. One can also help them by giving them donations.

If they don't like you, they make up excuses about everything and discriminate. Went through all the processes, sent a video of our home, and told us we were next in line for a kitten that bonded with me. passed all checks, then they made up a policy not listed on any application or on the website they have. Said "Oh you live over 50 miles from here" that's too far. We made to 59-mile trips to visit kittens. On the second trip we drove all the way there and they said they emailed us that the kittens weren't coming( An email we did not see). So we looked at other kittens and we gave them a chance only to be told that all the kittens were quarantined for roundworm, while we were there. They don't answer emails within days or at all. They discriminate against men and apparently don't like firefighters, who mind you, still save cats from trees when called to do so. The ones that are suffering are the cats themselves at this place because by the time you might be approved, they are adults or infected with parasites because they don't know what they are doing. Just Sad!

Don't waste your time going here. I've gone twice now and both times the dogs I was interested in weren't there as the foster doesn't show up as planned. Our hopes were up and we were excited about meeting dogs we thought would be a match for our family from the website and the dog is not there. This used to be organized years ago but it's not anymore.
