“Well, it took a bit, however THEY got it! I went in the store as I have been since it opened and when my total was reached I wrote my check as I always have - only to be told "we are not accepting checks for more than $200" Oh, I said, "I did not see the sign or was told prior to now that this was your policy." Even my cashier had no knowledge of their NEW POLICY. So what's a shopper to do? I was told I could "put away the overage" I just spent an hour collecting my weekly food expenditure - I'm not about to put anything back. I was expecting to hear "we'll honor it today (the check) but remember, we have a new policy, no check written for more than $200." Fortunately I was carrying some cash for the difference. As I was packing my groceries away I felt they should have honored the check ONE time only since I AM a regular, so I went to customer service to let them know I felt I was not satisfied with the way it was handled and the Assistant Manager was non forgiving. I explained the BEST way is to PUT SIGNS ON ENTRANCES with new policy to make a difference, apologize for not honoring my check and making me pay with the few dollars I had reserved for my grandkids lunches. Finally the young LEAD cashier, ANNABELLE stepped up and offered me a Winco gift card for the difference I had paid, YESSS, thank you. A customer's satisfaction means a RETURN customer. I was ready to call it quits there after the Assistant Manager Keith, said he didn't know who else to contact about this incident because I made it clear, I could have walked out WITHOUT the groceries because of their NEW POLICY that I was unaware of because I always spend more than $200 a week on purchases there. THANK YOU to ANNABELLE for her sharp conclusion to this unfortunate situation and of course I'll be back for more purchases!”
“Contrary to some others, I've always had a positive experience at this Tom Thumb. Pharmacy has a drive thru pick up which is nice when I don't have other shopping to do. My sister works at their corporate offices in CA and she encouraged me for years to shop with them, but the Safeway by my old house in Portland just wasn't great. We like the layout and selection and now they also offer the ready cooked meals for a quick weeknight option when I don't feel like cooking a ton. There seems to have been some turnover in staffing recently with a lot of younger new hires, but still see many of the regulars. In this day and age a little kindness goes a long way and I try to be friendly and thank cashiers and baggers by name, I feel like grocery workers are kind of like airline workers - not sure they deserve the brunt of our general irritation and we all know the labor market is super tight these days. Thank you for making a chore not too challenging - we appreciate you!”
“I love this store always has warm flour tortillas when we don’t wanna make them lol. Salsa is nice and spicy and if you want flour gorditas you need to call so they have them ready for you to pick up.”
“Went here a couple of days ago, very clean and organized, friendly staff. Not sure what everyone’s freaking out about in the reviews, but the incident happened 26 years ago and there is no smell other than the usual grocery store scent.”
“This is a terrific place to shop. The people who work here are friendly and even when there's a problem they work really hard to help you out. That also applies to the pharmacy staff. And the greeters and ticket checkers are regular people, friendly and engaging and not looking to make you feel like you're unwelcome.”
“Deanna in customer service needs a raise! She was helping me in customer service then was on the register and helping others in the checkout line Amazing worker ! Keep up the Good Work I will be coming back to the store ?”
“El servicio aquà excelente en cuanto lo atienden es rápido y muy eficiente no veo el caso de porque esta compañÃa tendria que calificarse como mala si no son ellos los que están entregando allá son nuestros mismos paisanos los q trabajan allá no son la compañÃa de envios de acá ellos”

“I attempted to post the below statement on September 26, 2023 regarding an adverse experience at Fiesta but it didn't post. However, considering a subsequent adverse event that transpired today (October 2, 2023), I am reposting and will be adding additional comment in this post or a subsequent post.(Original Post)FIVE STARS FOR THE STORE MANAGER, BUT ZERO STARS FOR THE SECURITY GUARD!I was getting my car fixed at the Firestone (across the street from Fiesta) and I brought my bike with me to ride to Planet Finess to workout. I stopped at Fiesta to get a Gatorade to drink with clear backpack where the inside contents are clearly visible. As I walked in, I contacted security and stated that I wanted to get a Gatorade and asked if I can take my bag with me or can I leave it up front by the cashier. The security guard (who was a female) said "No" you can't bring backpacks in here,....but here's the kicker! Another customer walked in with a backpack along with a baby, but the security guard didn't say anything to her. I questioned the security guard and asked why is she allowed to come in with a backpack and I'm not. The security guard responded by saying "I don't speak English"; however, she had just stated that I could not come in with a back pack in English. Afterwards, she stated (in English), that the lady had a baby so she can come in with a backpack. (Note: But wait, I thought that she couldnt speak Engish !)I asked for manager and the store manager came and greeted me with outsanding professionalism! I instantly felt like a star! This gentleman is real deal and employed common sense rather than potential discriminatory practices. We talked for roughly 30 minutes about a variety of things, but to make long story short, I was able to purchase my drink and move on.I've shopped at this location for a long time and it has come a long ways. The new store manager is the real deal and a great addition to the store and the wider community. As a community activist, public official, retired veteran, etc..., It is nice to know that this store has such outstanding leadership at the helm! I'm not sure how they're gonna resolve the issue with the security guard, but I trust that something will be done considering the promises made by the manager.Update: (Fast forward to today October 1, 2023).I was on my way to Planet Fitness to workout. I stopped by Fiesta to purchase an energy drink and a PowerAide. As I walked through the door I saw the same female security guard talking to another employee. I ignored her and went to find an energy drink and a Power Aide drink. After locating the Power Aide drink, (in the back of the store), I noticed the security guard near my vicinity (by the coinstar). I ignored her and got in line (which was long) to pay for my items. As I looked to my left I noticed the same lady that the security guard was talking to originallt constantly staring at me. I ignored it, but as looked to my left, the security guard had moved about 10 feet from me and was staring in my direction too. At first, I ignored it, but after a while I became annoyed and frowned my face at her and stated "why are staring at me". A few minutes later, the outstanding store manager opened up another register (#4), so I darted to that register. As soon as I went to register #4, the security guard repositioned herself from where she was to a position (where I assume) she could see me. As I paid for my stuff and walked out, the security guard was having a discussion with the same lady that she was talking to initially. Both were starring at me and talking, which made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcolmed. To document the incident, I pulled out my phone and took a picture of them as I walked out the door.Comments:I'm not sure what is going on at this location, but this is the second time within a week that I feel that I've been unjustly targetted and profiled. This behavior is dangerous because of the potential civil implications. (Note: The picture was blurred ”
