There’s really not much inside. If you need a bunch of groceries this isn’t the place but if there’s something specific you need that you know they have, then the people seem to be nice and I’ve heard the hot food they sell is pretty good

The store is nice clean with friendly staff. All items were very well arranged. The location is very strategic as it's proximity to FM 1093 is ideal. The checkout priced was very easy with multiple forms of payment accepted including cash and credit cards. Their payment platform was aldrin very easy to use. The plantains were very fresh as well as the yam. This seems to be the only reliable location to obtain fresh tubers of the yam.

If you are in the area and need a one-stop shop for any African product or food look no further. Amazing staff and clean space for your convenience.
Visit them and thank me later 😌 ☺️ 😊 🙂

Their prices are ridiculously high and expensive compared to other stores. Seems like most things are double the price. Eg: Zomi 500ml palm oil is 7.99 here but it’s $3.99 at the next closest African store to this place. 1L is 15.99 here, 6:99 elsewhere etc. I only come here for emergency purchases but never to return on the regular. I don’t want to have to unnecessarily pay more for anything here.

They have a variety of items I’ve needed and even stuff I didn’t know I could find out here (ukwa, banga spice, etc.).

Robbery! I bought Dettol there one week for $5.79, next week I come back she charged $14. Then told my husband it’s the brand, DETTOL is only one single Brand! They make up prices, I’d rather drive elsewhere for a bigger bottle than get robbed, for what? You can buy elsewhere and get monies worth but the people here will rob you! Do not shop there, the prices change depending on who ringing you up and if they think you’re American! Me nah shop there, dem nuh fuh de people, dem wan fi rob us.
Girl it’s robbery, a tall young man sold it to us, please stop playing

"I recently ordered for Waakye and Jollof from Divine Essentials African Market for an event at Rice University, Houston, and I was thoroughly impressed! Not only myself but all the students (international and domestic) loved the food. The Jollof was cooked to perfection, with just the right balance of spices and a delightful aroma. The Waakye was equally delicious. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. Auntie Divine and Auntie Gifty were friendly and attentive, making for a wonderful experience. They got the order ready on time and nicely packaged it. I highly recommend Divine Essentials African Market to anyone looking for authentic African cuisine. 5 stars!"

Loved shopping at Divine Essentials African Market! Traditionally cooked Ghanan food with lots of flavor and spice. They even have a pharmacy! Everything so tasty and my husband was so happy to have a special Ghana treat— and I can’t wait to make Fufu from the goods I bought. Staff is also very helpful and can answer cooking questions……Anita Lutz

Great customer service. Located in a safe area. Store is neat and well organized with products clearly visible. The great thing about this place is the ease at which you can to get whatever item you want. Cannot say enough about the savory freshly cooked meals. It’s a one stop shop.
