I’ve waited four years to write this review—intentionally—because I wanted to give a truly honest and thoughtful reflection on our experience. Please bear with the length, as this is a very personal journey.
Our family’s relationship with Montessori House of Children began four years ago when I enrolled my two children in the summer camp to see how they would adjust. They loved it. From there, our journey unfolded: my oldest started in the Elementary program, my second child joined the Early Childhood (3–5 years) class, and the following year, my youngest entered the Toddler program (18 months–3 years). We've now experienced every program the school offers, and I’ve had the opportunity to interact with nearly every staff member—teachers, assistants, administrators, and leadership.
It took a few months for my children to adjust to the new environment and Montessori approach, which is perfectly normal. But with the support and patience of some of the most dedicated and nurturing teachers I’ve ever met, it soon became a smooth, joyful routine.
What makes Montessori House of Children truly special is that it goes beyond academics. The school focuses on nurturing independence, kindness, confidence, and a sense of community in every child. My kids feel safe, supported, and truly happy here—and as a parent, that’s all I could ask for.
The relationships I’ve built over the years—with teachers, staff, fellow parents, and the administration—have been incredibly rewarding. I’m endlessly grateful for the team’s commitment to both academic and emotional development. Every teacher has played a meaningful role, from Ms. Maria and her team in the Toddler program, to Ms. Lakshmi in Early Childhood, and the wonderful Elementary teachers: Ms. Yadira, Ms. Alexandra, Ms. Erica, Ms. Via, Ms. Elisa, Ms. Ebtisam, the Spanish teacher, and everyone in the front office. You have all made such a difference in our lives.
We recently faced the possibility of moving to another city due to work—and the thought of leaving this school was truly heartbreaking. Fortunately, we get to stay, and we’re thrilled to be returning this fall to continue being part of this incredible community.
Thank you, Montessori House of Children, for everything you’ve done for our family. We can’t wait for what’s ahead.

Our daughter’s experience from 1st to 3rd year at MHES has been transformative. She began as a quiet and reserved student, hesitant to speak up or share her thoughts. However, with the unwavering support and guidance of Ms. Elisa, she gradually gained the confidence to participate, express and take on new challenges.
Teachers encouragement played a significant role in her development and growth both academically and personally. By 3rd year, she had evolved into a more confident and proactive student, ready to contribute and lead when needed.
The method of teaching made my daughter feel very comfortable here as students have the freedom of choice to make their work plan and balance at the same time to complete their curriculum at the same time.
We are sincerely grateful to all the teachers and the school administrators for creating an environment that nurtures growth and brings out the best in each student.

I have been at MHFC for 11 years now. I started when my oldest was just two years old, and now he is enjoying his final year in the upper elementary classroom.
This review doesn’t need to be long—just one simple story.
Today was my last Watch Me Work session with my son. He was engaged with the physical representation of the trinomial cube, focused and confident. As I watched, I saw not just a student at work, but a young man—proud, capable, and completely comfortable in his own skin. A leader within his community.
I couldn’t help but think back to our very first Watch Me Work session in the EC classroom. Back then, he sat in the corner, hesitant and unsure, reluctant to engage. He didn't touch a single material. I remember his teacher’s reassurance when she saw my concern: “Don’t worry.” Together, we made a plan to help him feel comfortable in the classroom, to find joy in learning.
Now, we’ve come full circle—from toddler to upper elementary—and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. More than anything, I am deeply grateful. Grateful for the amazing teachers, the founders, the administrative staff, the beautiful environment, and the community that made this journey so special. GRACIAS!

My kids are students at this school, and have been for the past 5 years. As a family we really love the school, its environment, the faculty, curriculum, administration and the parents who send their children to this school.
We had visited several Montessori before we decided to join MHFC. We really enjoy the atmosphere that promotes learning, lot of social interactions between kids and the many events for parents to interact, which promotes a very family like environment.
I have and will highly recommend the school to anyone interested in enrolling their child in a Montessori program.

Both my kids are students of MHFC. When we first visited we fell in love with how calming the toddler classroom was (no bright colors with minimalistic approach) and how well shaded outside play area is. The lead teachers connected with my kids in less than a week just by practicing montessori methodology. My kids love going to school and oh wait the best part is parents are heavily involved with school. So parent network is top notch and we made friends for life. If you have little ones then I would highly recommend this place. Kids are exposed to montessori way since day one and the food that is served is extremely healthy as well (examplr fresh fruits and cheese sticks for snacks).

I toured MHFC about 3 times before enrolling my kids, not because I doubted the school but it is quite a distance from our home.We started the Montessori method at around 18mo with my son….At around age 2 my son was having difficulties at his previous Montessori. Drop offs were getting hard and the teachers would try to drag him inside and I would sit in the car and cry and wonder as a parent what am I doing wrong…. I knew I needed to find another place for him.I looked all over sugar land but eventually my heart just brought me back to MHFC. My son toured it with me and within 30 minutes, he knew this is the school he wanted to attend. I listened to him and enrolled him right away…first day he came home and said he loves his class and his teacher and I just cried! I knew he was where he belonged even if it meant I would have to wake up earlier and have a longer drive to get him there. He is now 6 years old and just started elementary with MHFC and was so excited to go back to school! We started my daughter there as well at the age of 1 and I can see the difference in the foundation skills learned through the Montessori methods that my daughter received from MHFC which my son did not receive at the other Montessori he was at. My daughter now in her final year in early childhood is so excited and even more excited she will be attending elementary there in the future!

Is the latest strategy to get on top of the Montessori school ratings is to make yourself exclusive and create an elusion that your school only accepts kids IF they meet YOUR requirements? My twin boys (4.5 years old) went through an observation by MHFC's "finest" for an hour each. The teachers gave us a stellar review of the boys and convinced us to fill out an application form for $50 each (non-refundable). They make us wait over the weekend and only to send an automated email to reject their application. How do you reject 4.5 year old kids? Reasons given were "they did not make eye contact with the teacher at all times, they were singing while they were asked to do their work, the teacher couldn't understand what the child was saying" Are these legitimate reasons or were my kids simply victims of a school trying to make itself look exclusive? To the MHFC administration - you need to start looking at who your teachers are and what your hiring practices are. Stop spending parents' tuition on marketing documents/beautifying your school and start using them to pay for GOOD QUALITY teachers.Even my business school and engineering school admissions weren't this strict. Thank you MHFC for rejecting us. We will take our $20k in tuition fees elsewhere. To the parents who have their kids in this school, ask yourselves this question - Should a school be able to judge who they admit and who they don't admit and I am talking about 4.5 year old kids! Maria Montessori must be rolling in her grave #blessingindisguise #profitsovereducation

I'm having a difficult time writing this as I really wanted this daycare to be the place for our daughter. It took us some time to finally get her out of the house due to the pandemic and the initial transition phase was very difficult on her and us so the decision to withdraw her had double the impact.I do want to start by saying that the staff here and everyone we've been in contact with have been very nice but I'd also like to preface with my reason for sharing this review - I want to set the right expectations for other parents as they consider MHfC but to also hopefully bring awareness to any additional staff members who may have an impact on improving the administration of the school. The things we have found the most challenging really rooted from a lack of communication and transparency, especially in our daughter's day to day. Our main goal of enrolling her in a Montessori daycare is to foster independence and nurture her development and also to ensure that we are partnering with the daycare so it becomes a full circle effect. While I understand that the goal of the school is to foster independence and nurture her development as well, I truly felt and have communicated on a few occasions that it seemed like we were left in the dark on what this looked like at the school almost all of the time. We would often have to reach out ourselves to get an idea of how our daughter was doing during the day and would be met with very limited, broad feedback (i.e. she likes to play with the ball, she likes to go outside). The school does provide monthly progress reports, but daily or even weekly reports would be ideal. The progress reports themselves also provide very little detail about our child, again broad and limited. It was more focused on interests that were apparent (enjoyment of being outside/playing individually) rather than insight into developing interests or things that require observation of our child (i.e. our child has started identifying color matching and counting recently but this wasn't brought up during the progress meeting to us). I've included a screenshot of what was shared as the monthly report we received on our daughter's progress this in review. It raises a lot of concern as to whether or not the principle of "following the child" ingrained in the Montessori practice is followed by the school. While still in the middle of a pandemic, we stated our concerns about our child's health as this was her first time in daycare and she had been dismissed with low-grade fevers 3x in the two months she was enrolled. I strongly feel that, had communication been more frequent and proactive, it would have subsided a lot of our concerns. While I do appreciate the staff at MHfC, there is a very strong need for improvement with communication to parents. This should especially be prioritized when it comes to toddlers who are not yet capable of sharing stories with their parents at the end of their day. It deeply saddens me that we've had to make the decision to withdraw our daughter but proactive communication is very important to us. I hope that the school takes this into light as a practice moving forward.

We enrolled our 6 yr old son in the summer program at MHFC. What a fantastic experience! After reviewing several programs in the community, we decided to go with this school. The theme of the program was "Sustainability" and each week they covered disfferent topics with hand on activities around topics such as clean water, good health and well being, life on land/sea, etc. Everyone made our son feel welcome and we couldn't be happier with the teachers (a big ahout out to Ms. Alexandra, Ms. Via and Ms. Marla!). We should also mention that the Head of School and Founder are such wonderful people who truly believe in the mission of the Montessori education. We highly recommend this school!
