I just picked up my deer meat today from a mature eight point buck. I asked for the front shoulder to be in roasts, which I was told yielded only 3lbs of meat. I was told the rear quarter of the buck only gave up the 5lbs of roast (no other meat given) and the backstraps were only 3lbs total 1.5lbs each (picture included, the backstraps were large and I turned them in just to get it packaged). So an entire side of an eight point buck, plus it's backstraps yielded a total of 11 lbs of meat... The other side of the buck gave up a total of 15lbs of processed meat (burger patties 3lbs, hamburger meat 12lbs) plus I bought 4lbs of tamales which has minimal meat. I should never have trusted my backstraps to them, but I thought they would actually just package it as other processors have done in the past, it doesn't even loock like my backstrap.I walked back in asking for another box of meat they had to have missed another box, as certainly this wasn't only my meat. Theresa at the front asked another gentleman who worked there, and he said, that's correct a front shoulder only yields the 3 one pound packages of meat. I guess they thought I believed it, but what's there to be done? What else can be done, when you ask them for the rest of the meat and they say there is none and that's all you get.I paid $145 ( I brought it in quartered and with the backstraps) to get 30lbs of meat. My buck last year yielded over 68lbs of meat (another processor).I am disappointed and regret going there.*The photo on the left is all the meat the left shoulder gave, the right shows the size and girth of the backstraps.

My entire order looks like those, exposed meat, damaged packaging. Customer service was terrible when I went to pick up my order, I didn't discover it was all damaged till I got home.

I picked up my meat and I wish I could post a picture here. All of the bags of meat were damaged or torn with meat exposed. Customer service was terrible when I went to pick it up, as usual. Waiting on a response after I sent videos and a picture.

I won't be going back to Cinnamon Creek for processing. The lady there has NEVER been pleasant and they aren't very helpful, she acted put out to do her job. (If you don't like your job...quit.) I went in today to pick up meat, no greeting from either employee in an empty shop. I go up to her and tell her that I'm here to pick up an order and it's under one of 2 names. I was pretty certain it was under my daughter's name so I gave her that first. She appeared to be annoyed. She tells me I'm wrong and she doesn't have it. Then she asks if I'm even at the right place. !?!?! I kindly said I'm certain I am but will go ahead and get my daughter on the phone to confirm the name. (I just keep smiling because there's just no reason to make the situation worse). I give her my daughters name again and say I'm certain it's under her name and the only other person in the room, the male employee chimes in and rudely says "ya, a ghost order" as if we are idiots. (It's was me and my daughter picking up the meat). The lady in less than 30 seconds finds the order under the name I originally gave her. I smile, say thank you and leave. Not a thanks, come again, nothing. I get the meat home and at least 1/3 of the packaging is damaged with meat exposed. There's just no reason to do business with you. ...your two rude employees just lost you ALOT of business.

I tried this place just after they moved to the facility they are currently at now. I can't remember how many years ago that was. It took them till August the next year to call me on a doe I dropped off in November the previous year. The lady kept telling me once I got there for pick up that they were having to search through all the freezers to find it. After about an hour of waiting at the counter they brought out a mystery box full of meat. I declined paying for it, I got a refund and left. So fast forward to 2023 and I had to use them due to not finding another processor open at 830 Sunday night. I dropped my son's doe youth weekend. I did get my son's doe back 12-3-23. But, a 60 lb. Doe cost me $284.50 and I didn't have many special cuts, mainly burger and sausage, 3 sticks summer sausage, 3 packs meatloaf 3 packs bacon wrap fillets. The backstrap I told them to fillet and wrap. We got 3 1lb packages back. I guess maybe they think I don't know the backstraps on a deer are about 2 ft long, and that there is infact 2 of them. Thats about a 90% loss of backstrap on this deer. All the meat they pack in sleeves is in 2 lb. packages instead of 1 lb. This I'm assuming saves labor and time for them, also I'm assuming its cheaper on expenses only buying half as many sleeves since they are 2 lb vs 1 lb. The summer sausage has no option of no hatch chili pepper, or cheese. The meat sleeves they use don't even say venison on them, they say beef. Ive used many small time processors in my 30+ years of hunting, and they all can afford the 1lb sleeves that say venison. At $284.50 for a 60 lb doe I feel alot is left to be desired for the amount spent for the product returned. I do not reccomend. Update 1-17-2024, blandest sausage I have ever eaten.

Theresa is the best! She is very patient and provides great customer service. I have 5-7 animals a year processed here. Meatballs and Tamales are a must try. Also a fan of the German rings. Not the cheapest but the quality is great and they know what they are doing. My kids love checking out all the mounts.

Be sure to be very specific in your processing orders! My order requested Maximum Steaks, Maximum whole ham, Backstraps and tederloins. The balance to be hamburger. I got 1 Ham , 3 small steaks, both tenderloins and both backstraps. Along with 38 pounds of hamburger!!! All the steaks that should have come from the front shoulders were ground into hamburger. One ham only got me 3 small steaks. All of this is my fault!! Why? because I assumed maximum steaks would come from both the hams and the front shoulders. No where on the processing menu is there a place to indicate steaks from the front shoulders. I have taken several deer and hogs to Cinnamon Creek for processing. No more. Anyone want some hamburger?

Community Grind!!!!We were not informed that Cinnamon creek was a community grind(they grind all of the white tail deer together that they received and then give you back your weight in meat.) when dropping off our white tail deer. They do not give you a quote of how much it will cost when you leave she told me that my deposit was $100 and then after they weighed everything they would have the final price for me when I picked up in 6 weeks… this was my first time ever going to a processor so I had no idea how long it is supposed to take. Later on we asked around and found out that it’s a community grind. I instantly called and requested that I get my meat and deposit back.. thankfully I could! They were very nice about us wanting to get our meat back and understood that it’s all a preference. I just wish I would have known before going there.

I have used Cinnamon Creek before they were Cinnamon Creek. I really can't say enough about the care that goes into your animal. I know this sounds like a family member review but I swear my only skin in this is letting other people know hands down you get your animal back and the options for each cut are amazing. We kill a lot of game and to not just have Summer Sausage or Chili meat keeps us happy!!! If you don't have a place you lose be then please try these guys

We've used Cinnamon Creek for a few years for deer processing even though they were over an hour away. We love their seasonings and what we get back. Moved away and SAD that they're now 4 hours away and we have to find someone new. Wish us luck!

In case you were wondering if you get your own meat back, here are the tenderloins I received. Never seen mismatched tenderloins before on a deer.

Absolutely love this place, from the initial inquiry phone call, through the whole process. Theresa is a champ, she was fun and informative and put up with our shenanigans bringing her a bunch of deer! I will be bringing more deer here, and sending all of my hunting clients here!!

I brought four quarters of a doe and one quarter of an axis to get processed. I had several things picked out to be made. I got my stuff back in six weeks and started to go through it. Nothing in my stuff was labels with axis. I called up there to talk to someone and the guy told me to call back the next day to talk to the butcher. I called back and talked to him again. His response was that I should have specified what was being made out of the axis (even though I was not told to do that when I dropped it off). He then said "hey, at least axis is good tasting meat". At this point I am not even sure that I got the axis back. He said that "if he had to guess it was in the ground burger", which would make absolutely no sense. I will not be going back, and I caution anyone thinking about going there to look elsewhere.

Used Cinnamon Creek for the first time to process a couple of my deer this season. Outstanding experience from start to finish. I’ve used a lot of different processors in Tarrant, Parker, and Palo Pinto County and their options and execution is second to none. Talk to Theresa if she’s there, her customer service is outstanding and just an all around lovely lady!
