Re: education: I've taken classes from several other established bee operations in the state, and nothing has come close to the thoroughness or relevence provided at the beekeeping classes offered by this generational beekeeping family. I couldn't recommend the mentorship program enough for a complete, in-depth experience to take your beekeeping to the next, if not first, level!

Amazing introduction to beekeeping class! Sustainable practices, community focused, incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and plenty of Southern hospitality. Wonderful products like soap and honey treats for sale in their store—right off 35, exit 343. Totally worth the stop on a road trip just for the gift shop!

We like Oakley Family Apiaries because they developed a bee management System that works for Texas. Randy Oakley and his family have a wealth of knowledge about bees and maintaining a sustainable hive. They helped us set up our hive and mentored us for a year making themselves available to answer questions and guide us step-by-step along the way. I wholeheartedly recommend them for help in getting started with beekeeping. The daylong introductory workshop and monthly half-day workshops gave us everything we needed to succeed.

We met the Oakley's at the Mother Earth News fair a couple of years ago. They taught us everything we needed to know about getting started in bee keeping. We bought our first nucs from them and attended a workshop at their place. We learned enough to be very successful our first year and get lots of honey. They are always very helpful if you have questions. Great folks also!
