I was very satisfied with the Rockwall Pappy's boarding facility when I went on a Thanksgiving trip for five nights. My dog, an 8-year old Boxer-AmStaff rescue, is very high-anxiety and high-energy, so he needs proper kennel care. He is not good with some other dogs sometimes, but he needs the big space to exercise that the Rockwall facility offers. Pappy's handled this need well.My dog transitioned back to my care with no evident trauma or bad habits picked up.

I hate to write this because the staff have always been so friendly but my God... the smell in this business is unacceptable. Yes, it's dog boarding there will be smells, but this is a smell I cannot describe. It's been rough before and BOB at the front desk even told us there was a rat problem behind the building but they were doing what the could... then the whole lobby was repainted... this helped enough I felt ok dropping my dog off this weekend but today when I picked him up I gagged upon entry. I literally nearly puked in the lobby at the horrific smell of death, feces, and pure concentrated piss. I had to stand outside while waiting for my dog. I asked the very nice girl there how was she able to breathe and she didn't (probably couldn't) acknowledge the question. My dogs bed was returned smelling like it as well and wet in some places, it went in the tailgate and then straight to the trash. Even his leash is stained by the smell and now he has to sit outside until we can bathe him because he's covered in the stench. We absolutely will never bring a pet here again and I hope someone (HEALTH DEPARTMENT) will check on the working conditions for the employees at this location. I have never, never, seen place of business that smells like this - dog boarding or not! I've literally sat in on autopsies that smelled better. This is horrific and I'm honestly shocked by it. So unfortunate considering the staff were nice. Horrible.

Absolutely AmazingI am so thankful for Pappy's Pet Lodge in Rockwall. I adopted my sweet dog in July and needed to board her this past weekend. My dog Leila is very nervous and timid from a bad past home life and has been making slow but steady progress since her adoption day. I was very concerned about sending her to board overnight. When I got to the Lodge on 10/13/23 at 7am, the ladies at the front desk understood the assignment immediately. They noticed how nervous Leila was and gave her princess treatment. I was nearly in tears and they were so patient and non-judgmental and made sure my dog would be taken care of while I was away. When I went to pick Leila up, the people at the front desk were so nice once again and the same amazing lady who checked me in on Friday gave me a little report on how Leila did throughout her stay. The place itself seemed clean and well kept. I genuinely can't thank everyone at Pappy's Pet Lodge enough and would recommend this place to anyone in the area. <3

Our 12 year old Labrador had lost her sister the week before we needed to be in Texas for my husband's business trip, and we really wanted to see my mom. The sitter we wanted accidentally didn't update her calendar, so she couldn't go there. Luckily, my mom recommended Pappy's, who confirmed that she was welcome as long as we provided up to date vaccination records. We were a bit nervous, wondering how she would do, but the staff was so loving she went right to them and she did really well. We could tell when we picked her up that she loved the staff. We would definitely recommend Pappy's and take our fur baby back.

Tilly Mae loves going to "Doggy Day Camp." Whenever I drop her off, she is greeted with hugs and excitement. Not only does she go for day camps, but Pappys is the only place I take her for boarding. I actually drive 30 minutes to Pappys in Rockwall because she feels safe and loved. Thank y'all for making my fur baby feel safe and loved.

I don't know how this business has earned such poor reviews other than most people today complain more than they give thanks. This review is long overdue. Over the past year I have been taking my dogs to Pappy's Pet Lodge usually about 3 days at week, and am so thankful to have found this place and most of all team that had helped me manage my dogs while going through a difficult time and commuting into the city. They have gone over and beyond being patient and flexible with me and my crazy schedule and am so thankful as it has made a difference taking my dogs to a place i know they enjoy with people that treat them well. Peggy, Justice, Tyra, and Bob thank you for the excellent service and to your back of house team's assistance.

This is a terrible company. Do not use. We brought our Border Aussie in for a free trial daycare and was told when we picked her up that she did great and had even made a friend. Took her back a few days later and they refused to let her in.She is nervous and scared when meeting new people and this was made clear on the first day and I was reassured that they had many dogs that were the same. Do not trust this company with your fur baby as they do not know how to properly handle dogs.Reply: I appreciate your response but you may have been given wrong information by the staff. Ruby, her sibling, was not brought with her the first day Jupiter was dropped off and nor will Ruby ever be brought to this facility as I am sure she would be treated the same. The staff member the first day Jupiter was brought in was very patient and understanding which is why Jupiter felt more comfortable. When I brought her in again the female staff member was familiar with Jupiter and was again being patient. Jupiter was in no way acting violent with the female employee. The male employee, who she had never met, was however not at all patient with her. He disliked the fact that she was barking at him and that she did not want him to approach her because he was unfamiliar.A professional company should know how to handle all dogs and understand each one is different. At the very least they could have read the very detailed notes I provided when first registering her.And what profanity are you speaking of??? I said no such thing, and to accuse me of that is absurd. I politely said “bye” when I left.

My Bentley had a great time at Pappys, he stayed with them 2 days and 2 nights. He played so much he’s been napping since we got home. Very friendly staff

Everyone at this facility is so nice and accommodating, from the front desk person to the groomer. They go above and beyond to care for my pets, to “read my mind” on how I want them groomed (the front desk person was able to take my generic statements and relay what I wanted to the groomer who also interpreted it perfectly), and I come to this location specifically because of the best customer service I get each time I bring my pets. I also love the products they use on my dogs, they smell so good!! Thank you!!

We have been coming to Pappys for years. We absolutely love the staff as do our dogs. We have lost 2 dogs over the years and they always send us a sympathy card. Our 2 newest dogs, both yorkies, love it there as much as their older brothers did! The new groomer is outstanding!!!!

Best place to bring your dog for daycare or boarding and they have cameras in the play areas so you can check on then throughout the day
