I’m only giving a three star review because the doctors, especially Dr. Phillips, are great. The front staff is TERRIBLE at answering the phones! Every time I’ve tried to call to schedule an appointment I have to wait at least 15 minutes on hold. That is ridiculous! Also, who’s the manager on staff? Shouldn’t you be helping your team? It’s so much of a hassle just to get a hold of anyone here. If it weren’t for the pediatrician this would be a one star review for me.

Can't speak to the doctors ability just the practice management. Tried two times to book an appointment for my kids after recommendations, and was on hold without ever talking to anyone for half an hour. First time I figured maybe something was going on. Second time I wondered if this was normal, and after reading other reviews it appears so. This is no way to run a business.

Would give them zero stars if possible. We have been taking out kids there for 5 years now and this is the last time for us. Wendy at the front desk was awful and rude towards my wife over an address change and phone call they said they have made (same number and address this whole time). An unexpected payment due for prescription refill for my daughter threw her off and said that the visit had to be rescheduled completely because of these things and would have known if when they called. Wendy’s attitude at the front desk, had lost our business forever.

Every time my son has to go to the doctor I feel validated and my concerns are addressed without judgment. All the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. The after hours call line is the best thing for a paranoid first time parent

We were initially very happy with Pecan Tree Pediatrics for several years and held Dr. Lai in particularly high regard as an exceptional physician. Sadly, our experience has deteriorated over the last couple of years, marked by growing frustrations, notably with their increasingly inefficient online check-in process. It's important to clarify that I am not against a online check-in process at all. In fact, when done well and correctly, it can be very beneficial. However, what is described as a simple confirmation at Pecan Tree Pediatrics consistently requires redundant data entry, a significant inefficiency that, as an operations analyst, I found particularly frustrating. Our attempts to address these concerns were met with apparent dismissal. On a couple of occasions, being requested to complete paper forms after already using the online check-in perfectly illustrates that what they are doing in this office is not the right way to implement such a system and highlights this lack of streamlined efficiency.
The ultimate disappointment came with the scheduling of a check-up appointment that our insurance did not cover due to its proximity to the previous one. Given that our insurance information was already on file, this oversight on their side was particularly disheartening. This issue, combined with the departure of Dr. Lai, compelled us to seek pediatric care elsewhere.

The front desk staff was extremely helpful and quick with their responses when I needed to obtain records for the SSN office. I initially provided the wrong documentation multiple times, but they worked with me to figure out what I actually needed. They truly went above and beyond to help me get the correct paperwork.
I asked Dr. Lai if we could run tests on my son because he had been experiencing stomach and back pain for a while. She said it was just growth spurts and he should be fine. I mentioned that he was diagnosed with galactosemia at birth, and if maybe it had something to do with his condition and she pulled out Google to look it up. She then told me there’s no way he would have that condition and that if he did, it would mean he was diabetic. However, galactosemia and diabetes are two entirely different conditions. Frustrating.

My husband and I are new first time parents. We brought our daughter to her first visit yesterday. The ease of scheduling in the hospital was perfect. They were able to get us in within 48 hours. Check in was quick and easy. They called us back to be seen quickly. The building is a lot bigger on the inside. Everything looked clean and nice. All the staff were very informative, attentive and friendly. We saw Doctor Trevor Smith, he was amazing! Answered my list of questions and even told me answers to questions I didn’t think to ask. Very knowledgeable and patient. He even helped us with our car seat because our baby girl is so tiny that everything is so big for her. They were out of a vaccine and they got us in to their Wylie location quickly. 10/10 would recommend; they provide exceptional care. Even the staff at Wylie were amazing. Rachel at Wylie was so nice. I look forward to my next visit for our 2 weeks checkup.

Waited on hold twice for nearly half an hour each time just to book a yearly for my kids. If that’s the new service I can expect with the new move I will find a new practice for my kids. Such a shame, we’d been going here for years and love our pediatrician. The customer service at front counter was always meh but now it seems from everyone’s recent reviews it’s a lot worse. The new location wasn’t convenient either. What a shame.

We've been taking all three of our kids to Pecan Tree for quite some time and have seen almost every doctor, always having great experiences with them. Unfortunately, I'm now extremely disappointed with the customer service. It shouldn't take an entire day to get someone on the phone just to schedule an appointment. In the past, I've been on hold for 15-20 minutes, which was frustrating, but this is on a whole new level. On top of that, the front desk staff has been unpleasant to deal with. It's really disheartening because we love the doctors, but it feels like the focus of this practice has shifted more toward profit than patient care.

Dr Smith did a phenomenal job with our 3 children. Very interactive, kind, and a good listener.
