Got 2 dyneema core halyards spliced onto shackles I mailed to Vela. I wanted the covers buried on the splices, and they were beautifully made. Also had a Tylaska Ferrule spliced onto a dyneema core line. Really nicely done. Thanks Vela! Highly recommended!

Beware! In last 3 orders, Vela shipped me items from another brand that are listed on their website for less. When asked to refund me the difference, they dragged their feet and attempted to give me store credit instead.

We redid the standing rigging on our boat by ourselves. We ordered swaged wire and fittings from Vela sailing. It came exactly as ordered, and their customer service was very patient with all my questions, and double-checking everything since this was our first time. They use Kos wire which increased my confidence. It shipped quickly, and was well packed. Their prices were reasonable. My only complaint was their phones had terrible reception, but two employees gave me their personal cell phone numbers so I could hear what they were saying better. I am a little hard of hearing and I really appreciated that. Alejandro on the customer chat line, Timo(?) on the phone in customer service were both great to work with. And the final order was confirmed by owner Rod Favela, who seems to be determined that you have great customer service and great satisfaction.

Terrible customer service. I bought over $1,000 in sailing equipment the past year from Vela Sailing Supply, and one hat had a defective hat strap in the order, and I have been waiting months for a promised replacement. The first call I spoke to someone, and now no one picks up the phone. I have chatted and sent about 6 different emails with pics of the hat, and have gotten nothing. I was promised a new hat over a month ago. I will never purchase from the company again! I finally called my bank to dispute the charge for the hat! So disappointed! : /.
The outcome: once I called my bank and made a review, the company called me and they were very nice. They said they were having a new hat sent, but I said it’s way too late, and I was already getting a refund for the hat from my bank. A few days later a new hat came, but it was the wrong color. I called the company and asked if they wanted me to send the hat back, and they told me to keep it, but I did get the refund which took about 5 months from when I made the purchase. Calling the bank was the last resort but after so many months passed, I had no choice.

Took 6 weeks to get my parts and was missing some of the stuff I paid for. Sent several messages no response. Might want to buy your stuff elsewhere

Slow!!! Placed an order and everything said 1 week delivery. We received part of the order within a week. The rest of the order received no updates for days. Sent several emails with no response. Finally after multiple calls was told that items would be delayed another week. The use whats app to communicate should have be a sign.

We just received our new standing rigging from Vela Sailing Supply for our Catalina 34. Customer service was great to work with, we had several discussions regarding slight changes and I'm quite happy with the results.Pricing was quite fair and our overall experience was a very positive one. They definitely earned five stars with this transaction and I'll look to them in the future for both parts and service.

As a professional in the marine industry I have had many experiences with good, bad and in-between companies. Vela Sailing supply overall did a good job in providing me with the products and the service and support that I needed. We did have a couple challenges working with a manufacturing supply company that did NOT go as smoothly as they might otherwise could have gone, including submitting a claim for some warranty covered materials, but overall I was pleased with the way Rod and his team were able to take care of me.

[pretty well resolved]Bought a sail cover. Didn't fit at all. They feigned interest in addressing it and then just faded away. Will have to put it in the trash i guess.
