I did a positive review on Google a couple of years ago...I believe in being intentional about both positive and negative feedback. Sad that this is negative for a store I have always considered my "neighborhood grocery". But the meat department is missing Melvin these years and slipping in personal touch customer service. The evening front end "customer service" manager is ironically adversarial and the checkout staff from indifferent to rude. Kroger is within walking distance of my house and on the way to Tom Thumb; Going to be harder to drive by and come up here to get lectured and gaslit. You are more expensive and smaller than Kroger -- I come here for what used to be kind neighborly workers. Y'all need to nip that slip in the bud.

Today was the second time that I've had to waste my time calling Tom Thumb to correct something for my parents on their grocery order and pick up process.This is the second time that I have found one of their meat products not just missed marked but it had the wrong meat liston the meat department sticker then it was inside the package.Example today's product in question was a pork shoulder butt. Which is on digital coupon sale for $.99 a pound.(see picture below)The pork shoulder butt, per package labeling was marked as a pork shoulder blade roast on the meat department price sticker. Which means my parents paid an extra dollar a pound or so then they should have. Also another funny thing about it is the Printed meat department sticker.... It was the wrong kind of meat, they had the wrong price on it and the weight was even wrong.... the printed label from the meat department said 9 pound something while the actual meat weight was over 11 pounds. So there was nothing right on the printed label from the meat department about the piece of meat that my parents over paid for. With this kind of error, especially in the meat department... take a guess of how much extra a grocery store can make with this kind of mistake!!! especially at a time when every penny counts for so many households in our country.The other thing that we've noticed at this time time is that a lot of their "in store made" items, they have changed as well.A lot of the items have just gotten smaller what used to be 14 ounces is now 9 ounces, and not only that but the taste has changed and they've changed something that's in it, probably to save a little bit of money per package.It's up to us as consumers to stand up for ourselves and actually get what we're paying for or at least what they're advertising.If it were not for the pharmacist in the pharmacy I would make my parents change their grocery store.So if you frequent this Tom Thumb, make sure you pay attention at checkout and check everything you buy to make sure it's actually what you want and what you're willing to pay for it. How much is convenience worth to you these days!!!!Please bear with the pictures, as I was dealing with this issue remotely from out of town.

If I could give less than a one star I would. Been going to this Tom Thumb but no longer. Went to pick up a cake that I had ordered. Could not find anyone to help me so went to service desk to get help. Back to bakery and the lady that came to so called help me was already rude and I guess mad because I went to service desk and hurriedly got the cake and shoved it at me and said there you go and quickly walked away before I had a chance to look at it. Trying to get her attention for more help my wife went back a little to get her attention and the woman actually yelled at her to get behind the line. Trying to tell her that the cake was wrong she kept on yelling. I asked for a manager and she walked back and laid down the F bomb sting f you. This made me really angry and I went off on her. Manager came and I relayed what had happened and told him that we will get the cake somewhere else and will never step back into the store.

Love this store, only thing I have to complain about is that my prescriptions doesn't always come through the computer here. And it's not just one doctor, it's all of my doctors that have this problem here. Other then that this place is perfect

This grocery store is smaller than the Kroger next door to it. However, it is more stocked and a little bit more upscale than Kroger. Kroger has a larger selection, but this store often has some specialty items that Kroger does not have. The prices at Tom Thumb can be higher than at other grocery stores, but sometimes it's worth it because the store is well stocked. I like the organic vegetable section in Tom Thumb as well. 3.5/5 Give it a try!

ONLINE DELIVERY GROCERY SERVICE double charged me and wouldn't even listen to me when I called to ask for a refund. She kept assuming my charges were still pending when I explained they were finalized and I was double charged. Instead of fixing THEIR mistake I had to call my bank and wait for a 90 day! processing period for the duplicate charge to be disputed. Ridiculous! First time using grocery delivery at this location & what a disappointment!! Be ready to pay twice if you choose this service!

I placed an order several days ago, more than 3, they should do the delivery tomorrow, 2/20/2021. So today they call me to apologize because they won't be able to fulfill the order. I said, ok, it's fine, but it will be great if somebody called me before so I can have time to do my order with another company, now tomorrow I won't have food for my family, they apologize again and we finished the conversation. This is when this gets interesting, 2 minutes after, somebody called

This is when this gets interesting, 2 minutes after, somebody called again from the same Tom Thumb, explaining the same situation all over again, she was really rude, but she was putting all her energy to turn me into a believer, she was trying to convince me that they make no mistake, and they inform me just now because they receive the order just now, and I explain I put the order several days ago and somebody in her company is not forwarding the orders at the right time. She got really infuriating, then she started talking and even if I said something, she didn't stop talking, was like the radio or the news, and I was trying to keep working and trying to stop this very unnecessary call, so I told her that if she had a bad day, I wasn't here to fight with her and this call was pointless, then looks like her boss got the call and guess what.... the same, like the radio, she was talking non-stop. I was doubting that this was kind of a sect and they were trying to convert me; I had a better time listening to somebody trying to sell me Herbalife or Amway. What is wrong with these people?. Customer service is not about forcing the customer to see everything from your point of view, is about caring, they never offer me to sell me food that they DO have so that I can have food for my family, I am sure the entire store is NOT empty, and they have something. Instead, they decide to pick a fight with me. And before some PR says this wasn't true, I have everything recorded on my phone, I can upload it all on Youtube.

At a time as this having racist workers does not do anything for Tom Thumb. So I'll use my middle finger. Won't be shopping there ever again. Most of my neighbors told me people that work there are not nice at all. Only reason I had to go in is my regular market was out of what I needed. And one more thing-price GOUGING is illegal. I'm reporting you.

The bakery at this Tom Thumb is outstanding. Today we celebrated my daughter’s 5th birthday at home. I called yesterday to order the cake, half expecting to be told they aren’t taking orders right now because of the current climate but I was pleasantly surprised they said they could make it in such short notice. To my surprise they made the most beautiful unicorn cake that just absolutely made my daughter’s day! I was worried it would be a sad birthday because we are stuck indoors but her birthday cake kept a smile on her face all day. I highly recommend this Tom Thumb bakery, there are some talented bakers there!

I cannot believe that this year (2019) this store will be 9 years old; it still looks like a brand new store! And I absolutely adore this store! I drive 17 miles, one way, so that I can purchase the freshest fruits and vegetables from Tom Thumb/Rockwall. The folks that work here are so sweet and helpful. The store is always well stocked and has a great selection of everything. The floral department is also very nice. I just adore this Tom Thumb!!

Would have to give 5 stars for cleanliness, the place has s spotless and always has been...BUT the whole checkout experience makes me give it 3 stars. I shop here at least once per week since they do have pretty Good Friday & weekend specials. While there I always pick up items that are not on my list, usually very pricey. So when I get to checkout today they had ONE manned lane, I was 4th in line so I reluctantly go to self checkout...fiasco ! Problem immediately and I'm looking for help, s*** you not there were 3 managers talking with each other with no regard for my issue. Disappointed since I'm checking out my own order, disappointed the process sucks, disappointed with help from management. THIS AINT WALMART, I Expected better..
