Loved the large variety of different types of philodendrons. The blackberries are awesome and huge at least 2 inches long and. 1/2 wide. Beautiful plant. Prime ark Freedom. I found the milkweed I was looking for and bog plant. Selling cuttings of philodendrons. I’m amazed of the beauty of the area beds. Color combinations are awesome. The owner and staff are just awesome and super. Thank you Mr. Caldwell and Kenneth. Thumbs up from Robert and I. Plan a visit you won’t be disappointed!!!

Some nurseries are organized to resemble the garden section of the big box stores, while others -- like Caldwell Nursery -- naturally flow. It's an adventure, really, and a fun Saturday afternoon outing. I drove an hour here because this place carries citrus varieties, and I was searching for something that was on my wish list. Found it! (And I found plenty more.) I learned, while strolling from one greenhouse to another, that this place offers a wide variety of citrus, fruiting trees, bedding plants, roses and so much more. And the folks here know their flora. The gentleman who helped me was able to tell me the rootstock of my citrus tree, and that's huge. (As a former citrus nursery owner, I also knew that he was spot on!) Caldwell Nursery is definitely a happy place for me, and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to garden,

So I have mixed feelings, first time going here and I feel like I missed its prime. Amazing huge place - I could have wandered for few hours. Had the spicebushes I was looking for. Lots of big mature plants for good prices. Downside is, it looks half abandoned right now. Only about 2 people working in whole place - super helpful but clear more than they can take care of. Lots of half dead plants from lack of water/care if they weren't under the auto sprinklers. Good way to pick out the TX hardy plants! Parts of it is like being in a big botanical garden. Hopefully will get some more TLC soon, felt like I needed to adopt all the plants. If out towards Rosenburg/Richmond area, worth going by! Hidden back behind the fairgrounds. Drive around to the right side. It will be worth it.

Good varieties but poor quality.A lot of aphids on guava trees. Root system was not developed on fuyu persimmon (selling bare root? And expensive) in April and do not offer warranty.

Caldwell Nursery is the premiere spot for plant lovers. Alas, Caydee Caldwell has unexpectedly died.

Great nursery. Very knowledgeable staff. Friendly cats. A lot of unique colors and varieties. Not the cheapest place, but I fully expected to pay more for rare varieties.

this place was awesome . we went for the billietiae and left with the billietiae. katie was super helpful and sweet and gave us advice on repotting and watering. she even showed me the melanochrysum she had . so beautiful. prices are fair for their tropical plants which is really what we went to see. the albos were about $1500-$1800 but they were beautiful. gorgeous. our billietiae was $225 and she is in a three gallon planter and fully rooted. amazing place i recommend visiting here if you are a plant lover !!!!
