I was looking to buy a new vehicle and wanted to finance it through Austin Telco Federal Credit Union. I got pre-approved by ATFCU for an auto loan and started shopping. After a few weeks, I found a truck located at a dealer in San Antonio that had everything I wanted and it was within my budget. The loan officer at ATFCU drafted paperwork for me and the dealer to sign. I planned on asking the dealer to lessen the asking price of the truck and hoped to get more money for the vehicle I was trading in which was 100% paid off. I informed the loan officer at ATFCU that I would be driving to San Antonio on Saturday to look at the truck and that if I moved forward with purchasing that truck and financing through ATFCU, the dealer would send the final numbers for approval terms. The dealer did end up lower the asking price and also gave me slightly more for my trade-in. i ended up financing directly through the dealer (Capital One) due to receiving better finance terms than ATFCU offered. I purchased the vehicle on Saturday 4/30 and I never heard any other response or follow up from anyone at ATFCU until I was notified by Credit Karma that a new line of credit was opened by ATFCU. After contacting ATFCU, the loan officer stated they moved forward with finalizing the loan on their side, even though they didn't receive any communication from the dealer, nor final numbers from the dealer for the final purchase price. On my credit, I now currently have two auto-loans for the same, single, vehicle. And the one with ATFCU is for more than my actual purchase price! The dealer had to send a letter to ATFCU in order for ATFCU to close their auto loan. I'm also going to close my checking and savings accounts with ATFCU. I've done business with ATFCU in the past but won't after this poor experience.

This branch has extremely poor customer service. Every time I’ve come to drop off a deposit, through the drive-through or inside, there’s always been some issue. The staff are really unfriendly and service is very, very slow. Really recommend banking somewhere else if you can.

I'm not sure why, but this branch is extremely slow. of all the years I've been a member, I've never experienced a branch that consistently moves so slow. Maybe processes should be reviewed to determine what causes such a delay.

Convenient location And friendly staff - +all the wonderful Austin Telco products - need I say more. If you do not have a financial institution or you are looking for a new one... Check them out and you'll be glad you did. This location has both a small lobby and a drive-thru
