I’ve been renting from Avis for about Two years. This location is the best compared to the others. Sam is the best in the business. They’ll do their best to put you in a new clean car. I see most reviews making complaints that are out of their control. If you book during busy season and hours you can’t expect everything to be perfect. Research what events are going on in Austin and book in advance. Sounds like a lot of last minute, unprepared renter complaints. Check the car before you leave and if they can’t accommodate you with something better then take your business elsewhere. Accountability people, can’t blame others for your choices.

Discombobulated.. Avoid this location!!Manager overtalks you, employees are shifty, car wasn't ready on time.Avis said they could pick me up at the repair shop, so I booked and paid in advance, then I call to make arrangements and the manager said, we don't do that. So I have to pay for 2 extra rides now..I got an electric car and it did not come with the factory standard home charging adapters.. And they give me the car at 60% charge..I'm be contacting AVIS about this.. Based on other reviews I've seen, they need to be shut down or put on probation..

My husband and I made a reservation for an SUV rental for a week long road trip, with a final destination of Phoenix, AZ. This was the first time renting with Avis and will likely be the last, especially at this location.Online booking was smooth and the price was great. The first problem arose at pickup, with my husband reporting that it took 20-30 minutes from arrival to actually driving off with the vehicle. We've rented at other rental companies and it took around half the time, if not less.The second issue that came up was when we were at home, loading the car and getting ready to leave. We discovered that Apple Carplay didn't work. Given the long drive to unfamiliar locations, we preferred to have an onscreen map and decided to return to the rental location to see if we could swap out for another vehicle.When we arrived and explained the situation, the employee on duty explained that he didn't have another car to give us, which was fine and we knew that could potentially be the case since it was a small location.What was not fine was the employee's attitude. He was arrogant and unwilling to listen to our problem. He talked over us and at one point even raised his voice at me. He insisted that the car did not have Apple Carplay installed, even after we told him that the vehicle gave us the option to use Apple Carplay, but it wouldn't work. I also said I'd Googled and found this was a known issue with the car we rented. He stated that Avis didn't guarantee car features and that Apple Carplay, Android Carplay, etc. weren't standard. I've rented cars for the past decade and this is the first time I've heard an employee emphasize the features they don't offer. Also, Carplay has been standard in all the cars I've rented from other companies, for at least the past five years. Apparently Avis/Budget doesn't purchase such vehicles.As we were walking out the door, the employee was checking paperwork and said, "You're right! It does have Carplay" and apologized for it not working. That's what he should have done in the first place... confirmed the car features instead of gaslighting us and saying the feature wasn't installed.He then asked if we could still see the maps on our phones and we confirmed that we could, but we preferred to see it onscreen, given the long drive to Phoenix. He then said the drive was "easy" and we didn't need an onscreen map and started giving us directions. My husband tried to explain we were stopping at different cities on the way, but the employee just kept talking and saying how easy the drive was. To have a rental car company employee suggest that a driver didn't need a car feature that is not just for convenience, but also for safety purposes and should instead look at their phones while driving is laughable and inexcusable. He spoke to us like we were children and he was "father knows best." We wound up leaving with a resolution.The lack of Apple Carplay is an annoying inconvenience and shouldn't be an issue at all, especially given the cost of the rental. But, we managed, especially as people who learned to drive at time when all we had were paper maps.What was not manageable was the arrogance and lack of customer service skills exhibited be the employee on duty. For that reason, I will not do business here again.

I rent cars from this location when it is not worth it to fly to some closer cities. The location is always reliable and the cars are clean. Sam, the owner, is friendly and helpful. As with any rental car location, make a reservation. The rental car fleet is still constrained.

This is the best Avis location I’ve dealt with in years. They are responsive, customer friendly, and show empathy for us in a time of hail disaster in our area. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a rental car in the central Texas region.

I was very skeptical about renting here because of previous reviews, but my experience was so nice. The car was clean and drove great. The gentlemen at the counter didn’t just give me good service, they were also kind and we had great conversation! The manager, I assume, also stepped in to ensure that I was being helped adequately. No hassle at all which was a relief. Thank you all again!

Wow...just wow. With so many car agencies and even other Avis locations I would never return to this specific location ever..I would never recommend this location to anyone unless they were my worst enemy and even then I'm not sure I would..Put it this way I would rather take my money and burn it than give it to the manager of this location. He is rude, arrogant and plain disrespectful. He does not deserve to run a business and it's a shame Avis even allows this.Go to the Avis location up the road in round rock for a better experience. Just avoid this place like the plague.Good luck out there!
